"JJ installed new interior doors (including closets) in our condo, replaced the casing on all doors, and replaced baseboard in 3 bedrooms. We had ordered the doors ourselves and several arrived damaged, but JJ did a wonderful job of repairing and painting to make them look good as new so we didn't have to wait for replacements"

"Excellent quality and attention to detail. The owner is amiable and responds to calls and has been around a long time (did my neighbor's siding over ten years ago). On site crew was friendly and professional and immediately took care of any minor detail that I found. Bid was right in line with another preferred Hardieboard contractor. Overall, this is one of the best contractors I have worked with.

"Jordan and his helper were exceptional. Jordan was polite, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable about the products he was installing. It was a great pleasure working with Jordan. He went out of his way to make sure that we had a pleasurable experience with the installation of five windows in a door. At first we were expecting it to be a nightmare but Jordan made it into a dream. Window Depot is very lucky to have an employee like Jordan representing their company."

"They replaced 10 windows in my home, and did a great job. I wanted them to do my sliding glass door also. The measuring tech did not measure correctly and the door did not fit when it arrived. They worked with me to make it right. Rich Miller did everything he could to work with me. Everybody makes mistakes, but they tried to make it right."

"The estimate went quick and easy. The gentleman stayed in touch with me up to the install and the price was great. It took about 8 weeks from estimate to install date. There was some miscommunication between the surveyor and the install crew. The crew was unaware that one of the windows being replaced was upstairs. They told us the day of that they would not be able to install that one because they needed to go through our pool screen. So the install of the upstairs was delayed to the following week. When I called to complain, the manager was very apologetic and they offered to have the screen replaced for free. The install crew was able to find a way to not break the screen and the end result was fantastic. Windows looked great and the crew cleaned up very nicely. Almost like they were never there. Total of 4 windows took about 8 total hours to complete."

"Sean was fantastic. Called me immediately to set up a time. He clearly explained the costs and work to be done and was very flexible in setting the time to do the work. I needed it done quickly and he came the same day, completed the work efficiently and did a great job. He organized and neat in his work and had the job done very quickly. Great guy and very personable. I would definitely work with Sean again. Thank you for a great job!"

"The doors were put in and after 5 hours installation it was noted th left side of the double door was defective and needed to be replaced. After 3 weeks a new section was brought to my house and was found to be defective also. All blamed on manufacturer. After three more weeks, 3rd door section was broght and put in place. Throughout this time it was noted the door handle lever was not working properly and 2 different techs attempted to fix it. Finally Sean said he had a part at home he would bring over the next day. 2 days later I was asked to sign a certificate of completion and I refused twice saying my door was not done yet. I called and complained to Service Finance Co twice and said I would not sign the completion form until my door was fixed. Service Finance put the paperwork through without my signature and now Window Depot is ignoring my texts to repair my door handle. Poor way to do business. I will not recommend this company or the finance company."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

The best type of window screen for your home depends on your region and your family’s needs. While fiberglass window screens are a popular, affordable, and easy-to-find choice, you may be looking for different benefits, such as a more high-end look, increased strength, or extended durability. The best window screen meets the demands of your home and its residents while staying within your budget.

Window screens can help keep some heat out of your home, which is one benefit of using them in summer. It’s also the reason experts suggest removing your screens in winter—so it’s easier for the sun’s warmth to filter into your home. This will keep you cozier and potentially reduce your heating bills.

Most window screens last for about 10 to 12 years, assuming they are made from quality materials and receive proper care. The lifespan of common materials like fiberglass and aluminum can vary based on weather exposure, as constant sun or harsh winters can accelerate wear and tear. Regular cleaning and basic maintenance can help extend their life. Signs that a screen needs to be replaced include rips, tears, brittle or sagging material, fading, or a bent frame. While small tears can often be repaired, larger areas of damage typically mean it's time to replace the entire screen.

Rescreening your porch can take a few hours to a whole day, depending on the size of the enclosure and the amount of screen that needs replacing. If you decide to have a professional handle the rescreening, be sure to get a timeline and a cost estimate so you know how long you’ll be without the screened-in space.

On average, it cost $2,900 to rescreen a patio, porch, or sunroom, with homeowners paying anywhere from $800 to $5,200. The cost to rescreen a porch, patio, or sunroom enclosure depends on the size of the enclosure, the extent of the damage, and the materials used to replace existing screens.
