"We hired Window Depot in 2021 to replace all our windows , French doors , sliding doors with Hurricane glass PGT. From sales, communication ( many steps from start to finish /this was important )quality of the windows and doors, team of experienced and qualified installers(cleaning up after each step of the installation process) we would recommend this company-with 5 * We are amazed how quiet our home is and how the quality of the products stand out. This Company did such a wonderful job from start to finish * passing inspection with flying colors. Thank you Window-Depot for making this one of the best Investments we have done on our home of 31years."

"Unbelievable service so pleased that we chose Sliding Glass Door Solutions. We had a heavy sliding glass door with an Aluminum Trac that had gotten so damaged that we could no longer open the door. From the Instant I spoke to the owner of the company I felt like he knew exactly what my situation and solution for my door was. I had done. a lot of research and he not only confirmed what I thought I already knew the problem was and then not only give my clear estimates for what might be needed Without any high pressure sales techniques. Having spoken to several other companies it was so refreshing and I can tell you I wasn't disappointed . From the moment I hung the phone up he followed thru with text message and I had his web site info as well. I also didnt have to wait weeks for the job. I had my door fixed in less than 3 days. The professional who showed up was awesome. His tool kits organized clean, he laid down coverings to protect the floors and man he filed that track down in less than an hour and replaced it with a STEEL trac that won't warp and will last a long long time. My door now slides like its gliding on ice . No squeaking tugging and pulling and pushing. Also from experience the best trade people in the various business are from Eastern Europe where they learned these blue collar trades . Trust me Hire them you will not go wrong."

Small jobs welcome

"We met with Matt after multiple no-shows and not so great conversations with contractors. We needed to add a wall, pocket door, closet, and paint the interior. Matt was honest, punctual, did EXACTLY what he said he would and went above and beyond. There was a design change and it was very easily accommodated without any issues at all. The work is literally perfect…almost better than the original builder on a new build. I would very very highly recommend this honest hard working man and business to anyone looking to do anything at their house. My family is sooo happy we found We Do It All, and specifically Matt!!!"

"The sliding glass door works perfectly now, with new rollers and adjustment along the track. It is such a vast improvement that I plan to do the rest of the doors soon (for a glassed in lanai)."

"Jason Brown was the sales person who came to our house. He took time to understand what our NEEDS and our WANTS were. After fully understanding them, even though I could not find anything that matched everything, he found the exact door: Impact, half circle at the top with our house number etched (or painted, we went with etched) into in, that would accept our current home security system locking mechanism, that could handle direct sun from 10am-sundown in Florida, that was pre-painted white to match the trim of the house, and had a lever for the door handle (due to some disabilities). He found the perfect door and it is AWESOME! Not only that, he took into account my military service and disabilities in selecting the door and added some discounts that I didn't even ask for. He made the sales experience enjoyable!!!! I look forward to working with him and Morgan Exteriors on the window replacement when that project comes up on the list!!!"

"They replaced 10 windows in my home, and did a great job. I wanted them to do my sliding glass door also. The measuring tech did not measure correctly and the door did not fit when it arrived. They worked with me to make it right. Rich Miller did everything he could to work with me. Everybody makes mistakes, but they tried to make it right."

Window Door Contractors FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, you can absolutely put a screen on a casement window, and most casement windows come with screens. Unlike with a double-hung, single-hung, or sliding window, the screen in a casement window sits on the inside of the window so that the sash can freely open outward. Screens are especially important for casement windows because the large window opening the window provides leaves your home more open to bugs and outside debris than most other types of operable windows.

The average cost to repair a window is about $400, with prices typically ranging from $175 to $1,500. The final cost is influenced by several factors, including:

  • Number of Panes: Single-pane repairs average around $200, double-pane repairs range from $200 to $400, and triple-pane repairs can cost $600 to $1,100.

  • Type of Repair: Minor fixes for a track, seal, or sash are more affordable than repairs for broken glass or window frames, which are typically the most expensive.

  • Window Details: The size, type, and material of the window affect the price.

  • Accessibility: Windows on upper floors or in hard-to-reach locations may increase labor costs.

  • Other Factors: The extent of the damage, local labor rates, and the need for emergency service will also impact the total cost.

For comparison, a full window replacement can range from $175 to $1,800 or more for high-end materials or large windows like bay or bow windows.

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.

It’s possible to make minor screen repairs yourself using a waterproof adhesive for small tears or a screen patch kit for larger tears and holes. However, it’s usually a better option to call in a professional window technician. It’s very easy to use too much waterproof glue, resulting in a messy appearance that might demand a full replacement anyway. A screen repair technician will not only be able to carry out clean repairs and patches that aren’t obvious, but they can also let you know if replacing your screen is a more cost-effective option.

Window seals don’t last forever, so they’ll inevitably fail for one reason or another. One of the most common reasons is the expansion and contraction of the glass. When the glass gets warm from sunlight, it expands and adds pressure to the seal; at night, as the glass cools, it contracts. This process, day in and day out, can eventually cause the seal to fail. Other common sources of failure include the house settling over time, chemicals that damage the seal when repainting windows, and incorrect window installation.
