"Haphazard and incompetent. Installation was so badly done that my mother, a retired senior, had to hire another contractor to completely UNDO Anrex Construction’s shoddy workmanship. Antonio damaged cabinets, panels and moldings by cutting incorrectly and carelessly. He did not follow design instructions. Antonio refused to acknowledge/fix his mistakes despite written complains to make corrections. He wanted to charge extra to fix his mistakes, claiming "additional work" needed to be “analyzed and quoted”. My Mom’s new contractor undid Antonio's terrible installation to be able to install correctly with new cabinets/panels/moldings. Antonio scheduled a final inspection with the city BEFORE actually finishing the job (it failed). Antonio was extremely aggressive about immediately rescheduling a final inspection. He falsely claimed that canceling a rescheduled final inspection would result in $500.00 fee."

Drywall can be installed directly on ceiling joists. In fact, this method is common in many construction projects. Drywall sheets are attached to the joists using screws, ensuring a secure and stable installation. Before attaching the drywall, it's important to mark the joist locations on the ceiling, allowing for accurate screw placement. Proper spacing between screws and careful taping and mudding of joints are crucial to creating a smooth and flawless ceiling surface. If the joists are in good condition and level, installing drywall directly on them is a practical and efficient approach.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor or not depends on the type. Plastic expansion anchors and plastic self-drilling anchors, which expand once screwed into the wall, are single-use only. You can't straighten and reuse them after removing them from the wall.

Metal toggle bolts can be reused, provided you can successfully remove the toggle from behind the wall. Once you remove the bolt, the toggle often falls down and can be difficult to retrieve without removing the drywall.

It is more difficult to drywall a ceiling than it is to drywall a wall, but not so hard that DIYers can’t tackle it. One of the main issues with hanging drywall on your ceiling is getting it into place. Drywall isn’t light so, if you are hanging full drywall panels, you will need at least two (it’s better with more) people to hold the panel while you drill it into the ceiling as a single piece can weigh between 40 and 60 pounds and will need to be held in place for up to 10 minutes.

To hide drywall edges, you need to properly apply drywall tape and multiple layers of joint compound. These materials hide the seams between drywall sheets and fill the holes from drywall screws, leaving behind a smooth, flat finish to paint over. Apply joint compound smoothly, and finish the job by sanding the walls to make sure you fully hide drywall edges and other imperfections.
