"Alex is very professional. Within hours of contact, Alex came by the house to provide a quote. We agreed on services and he started the project within a few days. He was organized, quick, detailed and again, very professional throughout his service. He did a spectacular job repairing our drywall and painting, following water damage mitigation. I would highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for a reasonable and professional handyman/contractor."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, small, superficial cracks are normal as homes settle. Older homes have a higher chance of showing signs of settling through hairline cracks from temperature changes, moisture changes, and soil shifting. However, larger cracks, or discolored cracks from water damage, may signify a bigger problem that requires reparations and preventative measures.

Some textures are easier than others to DIY, but the short answer is yes, you can absolutely texture walls yourself. You’ll need certain materials, like a trowel or paint sprayer, but the most important things you’ll need are patience and time. DIYing wall texture can save money and be a fun, messy project, but homeowners need to know that adding texture to a wall isn’t a quick project.

The best tool for cutting a hole in drywall is a drywall saw. Its serrated blade and ergonomic design make it efficient for both straight cuts and more intricate shapes, ensuring clean and precise results in various drywall cutting applications.

Costs range from $500 to $5,000, depending on damage size, labor, and finishing requirements.

Drywall is safe to cut as long as you follow proper procedures, such as wearing personal protective equipment and using the right tools to score and cut the drywall. When cutting new drywall, it can release dust with silica and other compounds that could pose health risks. Leave cutting drywall to the pros, or wear a high-quality respiratory mask, goggles, and other PPE when handling drywall.
