"Amazing! Kevin and Austin came to help us. Our neighbor’s ficus tree burst our main water line. They were able to fix it and reassure us that it would be okay. They checked every water outlet (sinks, showers, toilets and pool) to make sure that the leak wasn’t anywhere else. In minimal time they were able to locate the source of our leak and stop it, after another company could not. Equal Rooter is reliable and honest. Their integrity and sense of humor has me recommending them over and over again. They are the best plumbers in town!"

"Our old washing machine finally died, so in preparation for the installation of the new one, we turned off the laundry hook-ups, and (wouldn't you know it?) the cold water hook-up started to leak. Immediately, I looked to Angie's List. Florida Plumbing Solutions (John Mendez) was at the top of my list to call, because of the wonderful reviews. First thing Monday morning, I called, and John answered. I described the problem, and he said he could make it by within the hour. He arrived, assessed the situation, and quickly got to work. Only the cold water faucet was leaking, but he said (logically) that it made sense to replace them both. The entire job was done within 30 minutes. And the new hookups are much more efficient and effective than the old ones. He was professional, knowledgeable, no-nonsense, and very nice. Best of all, I now know an excellent plumber when we experience future issues."

"Extremely well. Quickly needed a plumber to remove a washing machine hose, due to an incompetent Lowes installer who never attempted to do the job, but told me to call a plumber. Called WEP on a Saturday morning and a plumber, Gary, arrived within the hour. Gary was professional & competent and completed the job, that the Lowes installer failed to do, within 5 mins!!!!! Had the Lowes person done his job, my call for a plumber would have been unnecessary; I would have saved money & time; and I would have avoided an extremely stressful situation. However, Gary who had compassion for me, a single elderly lady taken advantage of by the Lowes person, called/advised the WEP owner, Adam, of the situation. As a result, Adam took further compassion on me and gave me a discount on the originally quoted price. I'm retired/on a fixed income and greatly appreciated all that Adam & Gary did for me. I will definitely call WEP for future plumbing needs & will recommend to family/friends. God bless & prosper WEP?"

"Great service. Arrived on time both days with great communication prior to appointment as to what the approximate price would be. House was kept clean at all times and I was kept informed at every step. Even came back the next day to allow me to patch and paint ready to install smaller sink. Did find that ceiling below is dry and found some potential sources of leak. Advice given as to next steps and what to look for and what possible work would need to be done depending on circumstances if became wet again onve bathroom being used again. Will definitely call and use again without hesitation!"

"We dealt directly with Steve. He 100% knows what he's doing. The city hires him for all kinds of things. We checked out quite a few competitors for water softener prices. Really no comparison. We ended up buying a water softener on Craig's List and then purchased the whole house filtration. Steve exceeded our expectations on the installation. YES I would use him again. Very knowledgable and competitive pricing."

"I selected a professional from Angie's List after I read the reviews of other customers and Rooter One was the company that I chose because of the reviews given by customers which was very good. I called Rooter One left my information to be contacted and I received a telephone call from Ms. Paige who was very pleasant and a professional she scheduled me an appointment that was convenient for me. I would like to thank her for her kind attitude. Mr. Peter Santiago the plumbing technician came to my home and he introduced himself to me and he was a professional very polite. Mr. Santiago ask me to explain in more detailed what my family was experienced with the plumbing problems and I informed him that the toilets, tub, and shower water and sewage was coming up through the areas. Mr. Santiago explained to me in detail what may be causing the problems with backup in the toilets, tub, and shower. I was a little frustrated because of the situation at my home he made me feel comfortable and assured me that he will take care of the issues. Mr. Santiago provided me the estimate to complete the job he ask me would I like him to perform the task of making a evaluation on the sinks, tub, shower, and toilets with in the ? home he check the water levels, and flow everything on home was not working properly so he proceeded outside and he checked the lines opened the main water sources removed the caps and the water was over flowing he explained to me that he would like to clear the lines and give me the price to complete the jobs i agreed with the price which I felt was reasonable for the job. He completed the job and he informed me that the main lines was full of toilet paper a lot of paper. "We had water leaking from  the baseboard in the room on the other side of our guest bathroom wall. We knew it was from the tub/shower and were very worried because there was no access to the plumbing in the wall in this house that was built in the late 80's. I called Abaco Plumbing because of the reviews I read on Angie's list and I am very happy that I did. Boyce the owner answered and arranged to have James come out and take a look right away.
James arrived and was a very knowledgeable plumber however he said that he needed access to the plumbing and suggested that I call another contractor who could cut a hole in the tile wall of my shower. He gave me the contact information for a tile contractor that he works with often in these types of situations. James said that he and the tile contractor would co-ordinate the work and they did!
Once the plumbing inside the wall was exposed James came back and very efficiently replaced the plumbing as well as the shower head, wall plate and faucet to the tub with very nice Moen fixtures and high quality copper pipes in the wall. I was pretty surprised when he said it was all less than $300.00.
James also told me how to replace my filter in my refrigerator as the ice machine had stopped working and he was right on. We now have our shower working again AND ice in our drinks. The tile man did a GREAT job too and very reasonable also.

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Older faucet fixtures may have some corrosion, leaving them stuck. Try a few techniques to loosen the fixtures.

  • Wrap the fixture with a towel and tap the base with a hammer.

  • Use a putty knife to gently remove any caulk that may be holding the handle or fixture in place.

  • Apply a few drops of penetrating oil around the base of the fixture or around the nuts.

  • Purchase a faucet pulling tool to pop the fixture loose.

It is best practice to hire a plumber to install a bathroom sink and vanity. Even simple installations require basic plumbing work, such as connecting water supply lines and attaching the sink to the drainage system. While an experienced DIYer might manage a straightforward setup, any complex work, like modifying existing plumbing or installing new lines, should always be left to a licensed plumber to avoid the risk of expensive water damage. In most cases, a plumber will handle the installation, provided it is a straightforward job that does not require custom carpentry. It's important to outline your expectations with the plumber beforehand to confirm they can handle the full project.

Install the sink between 30 inches and 34 inches away from the floor. However, this height could be adjusted accordingly for particularly tall or short residents. To accommodate wheelchair users, the vanity should leave a space underneath that is at least 29 inches tall, 30 inches wide, and 25 inches deep.

Local plumbing codes and manufacturer recommendations typically dictate the minimum distance between a sink and a dishwasher. This is generally 18 to 24 inches, providing enough room for easy loading and unloading of dishes without hindering the sink's function. Maintaining this separation not only adds convenience but also reduces the chances of water damage and optimizes plumbing connections.

Yes, many services offer faucet replacement as part of the installation or repair.
