"This request was to replace a standard thermostat with a smart thermostat. I tried to tackle the project myself, but it was a bit out of my scope, I didn’t want to damage anything, including myself, and felt best to let a professional handle it. The specialist did a great work. He was efficient, friendly, explained everything, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. Thank you!"

"Kevin with AC Wizards was professional and very responsive. Late Thursday afternoon he found a leak in my lineset and first thing Monday morning there was a crew at my house doing the repairs. They were done in just a few hours. I felt the price was very reasonable. I would recommend him and use him again in the future."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

On a summer day, expect your AC to run between 12 and 16 hours. However, this time frame depends on just how hot it is outside and the comfortable temperature you’re hoping to maintain indoors. Assuming the size of your AC is appropriate for the space you’re trying to cool, it shouldn’t be a problem for it to work this many hours.

It depends on the size of the space you’re cooling down. If you’re looking for the most affordable way to cool an entire house over a long period of time, then central air will be more cost-effective. But when it comes to cooling down a couple of rooms or one floor, a window unit may be the cheaper option, with both a lower cost to install and less energy used to run.

Assessing location for airflow, convenience, and minimal noise impact.

Yes, it’s best to turn off an AC unit that’s blowing hot air to prevent system damage and avoid expensive energy bills. If you let the AC continue running, it will put more strain on the condenser coil and compressor. Plus, if the AC is blowing hot air because of a refrigerant leak, it can also lead to a frozen evaporator coil.

When a compressor gets overheated in central air systems or heat pumps, it can still cool your home for a while until it eventually gives out. If the compressor is chronically overheated and no one addresses the root cause, it will create an incredibly expensive problem when your entire HVAC system breaks down and stops working altogether.
