"Easily the best HVAC company in the area! They came out the same day we contacted them for an estimate on replacing an older system, gave us quotes on three different options, and had a detailed proposal sent over to us shortly after our appointment. We had a few other companies come out to give estimates as well, and none were close to the equipment, warranty, or price that Wesley was able to propose. We picked our unit and Wesley had his team over two days later for a perfect install, as well as adding additional vents to some larger rooms in our home. Choosing between a ductless mini-split and central AC depends on your specific needs. Ductless mini-splits are ideal for targeted cooling, providing zoned comfort and energy efficiency. They are perfect for smaller spaces or homes lacking ductwork. In contrast, central AC offers consistent cooling throughout the entire house but requires ductwork and may be less energy-efficient for smaller spaces. 

Consider factors like budget, home size, and cooling preferences to make the right choice. Combining both systems, with a ductless mini-split in specific areas, can also be a viable solution for tailored comfort and overall efficiency.

The length of an AC cycle depends on the settings in your thermostat and the unit you have. Central AC doesn't constantly run at full blast the way that a window unit does. A cooling cycle in most homes is 15 to 20 minutes. Then, the unit stays off for seven to 10 minutes to circulate the cold air in the house before the cycle repeats. It should repeat two or three times per hour. A short cycle lasts less than 10 minutes and then turns off.

Both evaporator coils and condenser coils are recyclable and contain valuable, sellable metals such as copper and aluminum. Not only is it more earth-friendly to take them to a local metal recycling facility, but you can also trade them in for cash. Also, once the coils are removed from the system, they won’t have any traces of refrigerant, so you won’t have to arrange for recycling Freon or R-410A unless you’re disposing of the entire AC system.

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours. 

While an air conditioner can temporarily run with a dirty filter, it is not recommended as it will not work efficiently. A dirty filter forces the system to work harder to circulate cool air, leading to reduced airflow, increased wear and tear, and higher energy bills. This added strain can cause the air conditioner to overheat or fail prematurely. Furthermore, a clogged filter may allow dust and dirt to accumulate in your ductwork, negatively impacting air quality. It is more cost-effective to clean or replace filters regularly than to pay higher utility bills and risk needing to replace the entire AC unit.
