"Great customer interaction and orientation. Very personable. Installed Whole House Filter and Salt Softener system as well as a Reverse Osmosis System for drinking water. Excellent water quality. ALL the hard water is gone -- completely. What a difference it makes in skin, hair and overall health. Highly recommend this company."

Customers say: Quick response

"Keith called me very quickly and came out to view the job a few hours later. We agreed on a price and the next morning 2 of his crew came and installed the new water heater. They were professional and treated my wife and I with respect. They were also careful with our home furnishings and privacy. They showed me exactly what they were doing and advised me on the care and maintenance of the new water heater and took our old one with them. A job well done."

"The appointment for the estimate and the installation of the filtration system both were done with complete professionalism. Bobby was our representative and arrived on time (happy for that). Tested our water system and actually told us our water was fine. My problem was the computer board on our current filtration system was fried by the Florida sun and as a result the saltwater softener system was not working. So, we wanted to get a new system that was fully operational. Also included with the installation is a RO system for drinking water and we all know Florida water needs help. Well, it was the best water I tasted in Florida since we moved here 20 years ago. I did get two other estimates, and Bobby's was the best and more importantly we didn't get that salesmanship pressure (you know, you have to sign today for the discount story). The icing on the cake and the final point to us signing was its 5.0 rating. Nobody else was close. If you can, request Bobby. He will not mislead you."

"I recently hired Tom from Premier Backflow to install a new water heater, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. From the moment I contacted them, they were responsive and professional. They provided a clear estimate upfront, arrived on time, and were very respectful of my home. The work was completed efficiently and with great attention to detail. Tom was knowledgeable and took the time to explain the issue and the repairs he was making, ensuring I understood everything before proceeding. He also checked for other potential problems and offered preventative advice without trying to upsell unnecessary services. Pricing was very fair, and there were no hidden fees or surprises. I highly recommend Premier Backflow for anyone looking for reliable, professional plumbing services. PS I also hired Tom to install water softening system!"

"I can highly recommend this company for Sprinkler repairs. Lost water pressure in one of my sprinkler zones. Usually I try to fix my own sprinkler problems, but this time I had no idea what could be wrong with the system and decided to get professional help. Used home advisor to find a company and was grateful Eduardo replied within a few minutes. He arrived within an our to find out whatâ  s wrong with the system. He did a thorough check, found the problem (pipe cracked under a huge oak tree) and presented me a fair repair estimate. The repair job was scheduled 2 days later and completed to my full satisfaction. Eduardo checked all my remaining sprinkler heads for leaks and adjusted them as needed. Extremely pleased with the quality of work he did. He even awarded me with a-six month warranty. If you have any similar problems with your sprinkler system, contact him and you wonâ  t be disappointed."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

A lower-end water softener would cost around $900, not including installation. Each home has different requirements, water hardness, and number of inhabitants, so there’s a huge range in pricing—$600 to over $6,000. The average water softener repair bill is around $500, meaning it’s a much better option to repair any issues and only replace your softener if absolutely necessary.

Most experts agree there’s not much difference health-wise between hard water versus soft water. That said, hard water is more likely to cause skin dryness and issues that go along with it, like an itchy or flaky scalp. Hard water can also decrease the life span of your household appliances and make it more difficult for soap to do its job.

It depends on the type of surface. For instance, if you’re trying to get rid of hard water deposits on glass, you can spray vinegar onto the surface and wipe it off with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. However, if the deposits are on granite or natural stone, it’s better to use baking soda and water rather than vinegar or other acidic cleaners.

Most of the U.S. has hard water, especially across portions of the West and Midwest. The areas with the hardest water include parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and New York. You’ll find soft water in parts of New England, the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii.

You can use a commercial water repellent treatment for glass on your shower doors to prevent water spots. Take care to only apply the product to glass. Letting air circulate also helps prevent water spots, as water is less likely to remain on the glass for a long time with good air circulation. Run your vent fan, open a window, and leave the shower door open for about half an hour after using the shower.
