"Jessie did a great job with the installation of my composite deck. First he went out of his way to locate the decking for me. He did an expert job in a timely fashion. Went the extra mile to take care of small issues associated with the installation and consulted with me on any issue instead of just doing what he thought. Cleaned up and replaced everything when he was done. I highly recommend Jessie as he is a perfectionist in his field. You wonâ t be disappointed!"

"Aloha was very quick to respond to my request for quotes and the 1st to schedule an appointment to give an estimate. I ended up offering the job to them, without regrets. Work was done promptly and no surprises at the end when I got the invoice. They did an amazing job with the clean up too. Reliable, trustworthy and excellent work. Will use them again! The job I hired them to do was hanging ceiling drywall."

"I hired Rick and his crew to remodel a bathroom, reconfigure a closet to accommodate a one- piece washer and dryer combination to replace an old combination unit and sheetrock holes from vents from an HVAC system that had been updated to mini splits. As you can imagine, when opening up walls in an older building, there were issues. I was always kept abreast of those issues, informed of what COULD be done and given their suggestions of how to rectify the problem so I could make informed decisions. I was kept in constant contact in person or by phone or text. I was really surprised and pleased at how clean they left the job inside and out. The end result is beyond my expectations. I will definitly call them for my next project. I love the fact that I now have laundry facilities at home and much needed storage in a small bathroom."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Yes, too much chlorine can make your pool cloudy, especially after you have recently shocked it. However, low chlorine levels are a more common cause of cloudy water. An imbalance in pH or an excess of any chemical can also lead to cloudiness. To determine the specific cause, you should test your pool water to check the levels of chlorine, pH, and other chemicals. Regular maintenance is essential for keeping your pool clean and clear.

The total time to install an inground pool typically ranges from 8 weeks to 4 months. This timeline can be influenced by several factors, including permitting, site preparation, and the construction process itself.

Key phases and their typical durations include:

  • Permits: Obtaining necessary permits can take anywhere from two to six weeks.

  • Excavation and Site Preparation: This phase takes about a week but can be extended by problematic soil, unexpected ground conditions, or the need to move underground utility lines.

  • Construction: The actual build, including plumbing and electrical work, often takes one to two months. The pool material is a major factor here; a concrete pool needs about 30 days to cure, while installing a fiberglass or vinyl liner is much faster.

External factors can also cause significant delays:

  • Contractor Availability: Spring and summer are busy seasons, and high demand can lead to long waitlists, potentially adding months to your start date. It is often recommended to start planning and getting estimates up to a year in advance.

  • Other Delays: Weather, material shortages, complex designs, and other unforeseen challenges can extend the project timeline.

Because frogs require fresh water for survival, they can die from repeated exposure to swimming pool chemicals. Chlorine dehydrates frogs, which can lead to their deaths. To ensure frogs don’t hang out in your pool for long periods, safely remove them once you spot them in your pool and install a frog log so they can easily hop out on their own.

Small backyards are not a reason to write off fun upgrades like an above ground pool. You can find both soft and hard-sided above ground pools as small as 8 feet in diameter as well as 9-by-18-feet rectangles or 10-by-16-feet ovals. You will need at least 2 to 3 feet around the outside of your pool for additional support and for placing pool equipment, but a professional pool installer can help you find a model that's right for your tiny outdoor space.

Fiberglass pools last the longest because they need the least amount of maintenance and do not have liners that can affect a pool's integrity. Concrete pools last the longest, next to fiberglass.
