"Jessie did a great job with the installation of my composite deck. First he went out of his way to locate the decking for me. He did an expert job in a timely fashion. Went the extra mile to take care of small issues associated with the installation and consulted with me on any issue instead of just doing what he thought. Cleaned up and replaced everything when he was done. I highly recommend Jessie as he is a perfectionist in his field. You wonâ t be disappointed!"

"We were very disappointed. We had scheduled appointments with two other handymen. They never showed up or called. Omar, with Max B was very professional. He called ahead of time to confirm our appointment. He explained what our problems were. We agreed on the price with him, and he completed the work in a timely manner."

"I was hesitant when I placed my rotted soffit and fascia repair project on Angi's list. However, Oscar, from S.O.S. Home Improvements has proven to be a complete professional finishing the job exactly as promised. The project was scheduled for a couple weeks out (he's a busy guy). Oscar arrived as planned, completed the job, left the area clean, and hauled everything away. Definitely responsible and professional. Not only do I highly recommend to use S.O.S. Home Improvements I didn't hesitate to reach out to Oscar after Hurricane Milton. Once again, a complete professional finishing the pool cage repair exactly as promised!"

"Scott and his assistant arrived on time, were very professional and did a very nice job replacing the siding on a large exterior wall. The work area was left clean and tidy. We would definitely recommend them to friends or family and intend to use them again for any projects we feel like are more than we can tackle ourselves."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Certain pools serve as a middle ground between traditional swimming pools and hot tubs. The two main options are plunge pools and swim spas. A plunge pool (or cocktail pool) is smaller, but you can add spa-like elements such as heating and jets. A swim spa is more similar to a hot tub, but it produces a current that allows you to swim in place (similar to how a treadmill lets you run in place).

Yes, you can put too much shock in a pool, and it is crucial to follow the directions on the product you are using. Adding excess shock can upset the chemical balance, make the water cloudy, have adverse effects on swimmers, damage pool equipment or surfaces, and even encourage certain types of algae to grow. If you have over-shocked your pool, perform a water test and adjust the chemicals as necessary. The pool's chemical balance will eventually return to normal as the excess chlorine dissipates over time.

The cost to maintain a pool depends on its size and condition. A one-time pool cleaning session costs around $250, and regular weekly maintenance costs $25 to $40 per week. You can get a discount if you buy services in bulk. Regular pool maintenance helps limit the number of repairs and identify signs of trouble.

If you put too much baking soda in your pool, your alkalinity will rise. That means you’ll need to take steps to lower your alkalinity. You can either add more water (which will require more chemicals because they’ll be diluted), wait for the alkalinity to lower naturally, or use a chemical like muriatic acid to lower it.

A few factors influence the time it takes for a pool to heat up, including the size of your pool, the temperature outside, and how much direct sunlight is hitting the water in the pool. With these factors in mind, it takes 12 to 72 hours to raise the temperature in a pool by 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

While you can run a pool heater all day, it is advised only to run it during the day, as it is more energy efficient. At night, it is better to purchase a solar pool cover to retain the heat within the pool.
