"Jessie did a great job with the installation of my composite deck. First he went out of his way to locate the decking for me. He did an expert job in a timely fashion. Went the extra mile to take care of small issues associated with the installation and consulted with me on any issue instead of just doing what he thought. Cleaned up and replaced everything when he was done. I highly recommend Jessie as he is a perfectionist in his field. You wonâ t be disappointed!"

"We were very disappointed. We had scheduled appointments with two other handymen. They never showed up or called. Omar, with Max B was very professional. He called ahead of time to confirm our appointment. He explained what our problems were. We agreed on the price with him, and he completed the work in a timely manner."

"Scott and his assistant arrived on time, were very professional and did a very nice job replacing the siding on a large exterior wall. The work area was left clean and tidy. We would definitely recommend them to friends or family and intend to use them again for any projects we feel like are more than we can tackle ourselves."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

An easy way to know whether your sand filter has enough sand is to check how full the filter is and what the sand looks and feels like. The filter container should be two-thirds to three-quarters full of sand. Look for interior marks indicating the ideal sand level. If you put your hand into the sand, it should flow through your fingers without clumping. The filter pressure gauge is also an easy indicator—the right amount of sand leads to normal pressure, while too much or too little sand can cause high or low pressure.

You shouldn’t swim in a pool with algae. When there’s algae, there’s also bacteria that’s feeding on the algae. Also, algae-infested pool water is often chemically imbalanced, which means germs like Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and E.coli could be present. These germs can cause a range of illnesses from gastrointestinal issues, to rashes, and respiratory problems.

The best thing to do is to get rid of the algae first, test and balance the water, and then you can enjoy swimming without any worries.

Yes, salt water pools are more expensive than chlorine-based pools because they require a more complex system than traditional, chlorinated pools. This added complexity means more skilled labor and a higher investment upfront. Also, if you need to repair a salt water pool, finding a contractor with the needed experience is generally more time-consuming.

Yes, too much chlorine can make your pool cloudy, especially after you have recently shocked it. However, low chlorine levels are a more common cause of cloudy water. An imbalance in pH or an excess of any chemical can also lead to cloudiness. To determine the specific cause, you should test your pool water to check the levels of chlorine, pH, and other chemicals. Regular maintenance is essential for keeping your pool clean and clear.

You can build a plunge pool in an 8-by-8-foot space. Many plunge pools are about 8 to 12 feet wide, 2 to 24 feet long, and 4 to 8 feet deep. While these pools are smaller than your average swimming pool, you may want additional space for a deck or patio to surround the plunge pool.
