Had unit replaced & upgraded to a smart thermostat 2 days later. "The work they did was great! But I cannot give them 5 stars because of how expensive they were. I have a mini-split and already had it mounted and had an electrician hook everything up. They just had to come out and hook up the AC portion. It took them a little more than 60 minutes and they charged me $1,800. I felt like they had me over a barrel and I said, so, if I do not pay you $1,800, then I cannot use my AC, so what choice do I have? The price seemed extreme. I spoke to my uncle, who is a plumber and had installed mini-splits before (he was actually visiting and on vacation, and he would have done it if he had his equipment), he too thought the price was outrageous considering all of the electrical was already done. If you do not mind paying an arm and a leg, then they really do fine work and the guys that came out were very pleasant. But I felt like they saw that I had no choice and they could charge me whatever they wanted. I know I could have gotten a second quote, and maybe I should have, but I simply wanted to get it hooked up and be done with it. Unfortunately, I have had the same experience with other maintenance/construction type work, where an electrician charged me $600 to install 10 dimmer switches... something I could do myself for $50 in materials and in about an hour... there definitely seems to be something going around where price gouging is the thing right now... not sure... anyhow... that is my review."

Since I can do most of my services remotely with you over the phone, I am hoping to eventually open up to larger markets and help people from having to take their computer in to get it fixed, if it has internet access, I can usually fix it over the Internet. Just trying to do more to help my Angies List customers!!******** I am a sole proprietor that works out of my home. I am my only employee, but I have over 20 years experience fixing computers, and providing superior customer service. I work on a flat rate service, and don't charge by the hour because I feel it's important to educate the customer on what the issue is/was, and how to avoid it in the future. I feel that local service companies (my competition) have been overcharging customers for years. I offer a first time customer discount of 10% but I will offer 15% off for first time customers referred by Angies List. I've lived in the Huntsville area most all my life, so I know the area very well. I will never use a subcontractor as I am very picky about making sure that if my name and company is associated with something, it will be the best experience my customer has ever had, and using sub contractors won't ensure that, so I prefer to do all the work myself. Lastly, I should point out that I am a former offensive lineman for the University of Southern Mississippi and was Brett Favre's center his freshman year at Southern. I went on to play for Tom Landry in his last year, but gave up pro football early on to pursue my passion of fixing computers. If I didn't have bills to pay, I would do this for free because I love it! If you have a computer problem, I promise you that you couldn't find a better technician that will care about you as a customer, and not about the bottom line. I am always available, but don't always answer my phone, but if you leave a message, I promise to back with you as soon as possible...and figure out how to get your issue resolved in a quick, efficient and economical manner. "What an awesome company to work with! One Call Roofing not only provided the best, most comprehensive roofing estimate at the beginning, they were there toward the end of the project when we suddenly decided to replace our self-installed gutter system to match the prestige of our new roof.

Roof Details:

• Our old roof was a roughly 15 year old, three tab design with a single wind vent on a 1050sqft home.
• Our new roof is a CertainTeed guaranteed dimensional shingle design.
• One Call installed new soffit vents front and back, and upgraded our ventilation to ridge vents to match manufacturer requirements.
• Our roofline looks better, more streamlined, and the attic itself is noticeably cooler since the install. (We did before/after temperature checks in similar temperatures/humidity).
• I was up on the roof myself within 30 minutes of the crew leaving after the install and their workmanship is great. The drip edge was installed great. They caulked under the eves. They painted all of our vent pipes to match the color scheme. I picked up a couple of tacks, but other than that I was very impressed.
  

Gutter Details:

• Old gutters were Lowes brand do-it-youtself gutters which were dated, leaked and were not compatible with the gutter guard we asked One Call to install.
• One Call responded quickly and had an installer out to install custom made-onsite gutters within the week. They even added upgraded gutter guard at no cost and heavily discounted our final bill when we discovered we needed new downspouts to match the new, larger gutters.

The crews for both jobs were professional, efficient, and thorough. The One Call representative was amazingly responsive to any issues we had during the install - it is almost like they sit by their phones waiting for a call, even though I know they are busy. Experience-wise, we had a couple of minor scheduling snafus, but nothing they didn't make up for. Looking back, this was one of the most organized contracting jobs I've ever dealt with as the customer and I highly recommend them.

"Called Mickey's office on a Friday afternoon to schedule an appointment and was so surprised and pleased that he could come by within a couple of hours. Mickey can see many customers in a day because he is so knowledgeable about his profession that he was able to diagnose and fix my a.c. in a very short amount of time. Cold air started pouring out from the vents! I had put off calling someone because I anticipated a very large bill, as in the past. When Mickey told me the amount I owed, I was so happy because it was much less than what I was anticipating . In fact, after I asked him his price to replace my old thermostat, product and labor, it was so reasonable that I decided to replace it and add that service to my total bill.. The total bill was still inexpensive and reasonable."
