"I called Oliver Beer of Bauhaus because he had done work for us last fall. He gave me an estimated price that was agreeable. Once he started work he discovered, that like the windows he had installed in our garage last fall, the bathroom needed more work than estimated. Because my husband was going to be released from rehab in a matter of weeks, it was work that needed completion as soon as possible. Oliver worked week-ends and the 4th of July, for a total of 30+ days, removing the old plaster and putting up new wallboard. He got the old tub out and put in a beautiful shower floor; installed a new heating element; ceiling fan/light; a new medicine cabinet, flush and vanity sink. It took him more than 300 hours to give us a showroom quality bath. Incidentally, he painted our living room so that it would be comfortable for my husband to spend most of his time in. This older house challenged him at every project he started, whether it was the plumbing, ceiling lights or lack of outlets in the living room. i will certainly hire him if we need more work done in the done in the future"

"I will definitely call Ken again. Ken was professional, prompt and polite. He answered my call immediately, came the next morning and performed work efficiently. He also wore foot covers to protect our light colored carpets and he cleaned up afterwards. We are delighted. Thanks, Ken"

We understand that construction is more than simply following drawings and making sure a structure is up to code. It’s about making your vision come to life. This means that details are as important as the end result – the way joints are placed together, the careful installation of materials to showcase their beauty, the final brush stroke that finishes a project.\nFrom concept to completion, we take the time to make sure each milestone is met with the highest level of craftsmanship and professionalism. We stand behind our work, warranty every job, and make sure our clients are involved every step of the way.

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, you can install one recessed light for every 4 to 6 square feet. A 12x12 room is 144 square feet, which would need 24 to 36 recessed lights. The wattage you use for the light bulbs and the height of your ceilings can also impact the number of recessed lights you need for a 12x12 room.

To achieve the optimal lighting output from your under-cabinet lights, position the LED tape towards the front of the cabinet with the LEDs facing downward. For effective illumination of the work surface and backsplash, place the tape light approximately one to two inches behind the cabinet's front edge. This mounting configuration is especially suitable for dull or matte surfaces.

The process to cut a circle in drywall for recessed lighting follows a process similar to the process for cutting outlet holes in drywall. The easiest option for making a perfect circle is to use a circle cutter tool. It makes a smooth circle in the drywall quickly, meaning you’ll have less cleanup work to do later. You just have to know the center point of the recessed light before adjusting the circle cutter tool’s length to create the diameter of the circle cut you need.

Solar tubular lights, also referred to as tubular daylighting devices, are the most viable alternative to skylights on the market. These lights direct sunlight from the roof through a tube and into the ceiling. They also have the ability to bend around anything that may get in their way, making them adaptable to most spaces. Though they don’t offer quite as much light as a traditional skylight, they’re still an amazing alternative that can provide you with that natural light you crave.

You will likely need an electrical permit to install outdoor lighting, but it depends on where you live. Some municipalities don’t require a permit for electrical work, but you should call your building department or ask your outdoor lighting installer if a permit will be necessary. Your professional should pull the permits for you, if required, and close them out after the work is done. Either way, you will be responsible for the permit fee, which typically falls between $50 and $150.
