"We aimed to redesign/repurpose the interior space for a small outbuilding on our property and stumbled upon BEAR Architects after a quick google search. Being a new business, they didn't have much in terms of reviews, however, they were very responsive so we went with our gut and gave them a chance. Thankfully our gut feeling steered us in the right direction. Beth and Andrew are incredible to deal with. We found them to be very composed, yet focused and aggressive in moving our project along. They paid close attention to the objectives we communicated. They listened to our ideas and steered us properly when their knowledge and expertise was required. They were efficient and completed our project within the scope of the timeline laid out in their proposal. Lastly, they were respectful of our budget and ensured that we received everything we needed for the amount we had earmarked for architectural work. "We just finished our house renovation last month. I can't emphasize the importance of the role Jia Hua played in the whole process. We aimed to start the renovation last year, however for reasons I don't want to specify here, we needed to discontinue the contract with the prior architect we hired. Our project was delayed and we didn't have a plan/drawing yet at the beginning of this year. Jia Hua was referred to me by a friend after my numerous failed attempts to hire another architect. After the first onsite meeting, we knew we found the right person. Jia Hua is very professional and very intelligent. She is a good listener and also highly creative. In the design, she incorporated all our needs in such a nice way that we would have never thought of ourselves. Jia Hua is also committed to her responsibilities. As you know every town has different codes and Hua Jia didn't have experience working for project in my town before. She spent time researching the codes and discussing with the town officials to ensure the design get approved on time with no issue. We got our permit earlier than expected. And Jia Hua's help doesn't end when her contract duties were satisfied. She answered a lot of our questions and builder's questions during the building process. With her help, we are able to finish the project ahead of time. We deeply appreciate the quality work and help Jia Hua provided and I strongly recommend her if you need help in design and permit for house renovation/building."

While you might think that architects only draw blueprints for buildings, they are much more involved in the overall construction process than you might realize. While they aren’t the ones swinging the hammers, architects do the following:
Communicate with the homeowner on the project request, including assistance when exact plans aren’t known
