"Roberto Suarez ( A and A Electric) was excellent. He showed up in the pouring rain and installed the wiring for an electric range on a Mobil home. The job entailed running cable approximately 50 feet under the unit in pvc, installing the outlet and connecting it to the breaker box. He gave me the best quote, did excellent work and was a total gentleman! All on a Sunday in a torrential storm. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!"

"I cannot sing the praises of Ian and Power Forward enough! He is outstanding. The jobs he did for me were fixing a switch panel that was overheating, installing a new light fixture. replacing light bulbs on outdoor lights that are high up and installing timers for those outdoor lights. He showed up on time. He called to say he was on his way. He works very efficiently and is very clean. He was very respectful wearing a mask and wearing shoe covers. I called him back for an issue a month later that had nothing to do with what he did prior. It was a Saturday and he came right out for the issue. I was so surprised he was available on a Saturday. I will continue to use him for all my electrical needs and my family and friends will also be using him. He's fantastic!"

"Terry Anderson came out to fix some faulty wires in my basement that were causing my lights to flicker. I'm happy to say I can see in my basement again. He was professional, courteous and even taught me some electrical self help while doing the job. 10 out of 10 would hire again. This guy was awesome ð ð »"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When hiring electrical pros in East Haven, prioritize those with experience in coastal home wiring and knowledge of local permit requirements. Look for professionals familiar with historic home challenges, storm-resistant installations, and electrical panel upgrades. Always verify insurance, request references from East Haven residents, and insist on detailed written estimates. Be cautious of unusually low bids or requests for full payment upfront, which are red flags in the area.

Helpful?

In East Haven, homes built before 1960 often feature knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, which can complicate electrical panel upgrades and require specialized handling. Coastal humidity can accelerate corrosion in exposed wiring, especially in crawl spaces or attics. Finished basements, tight crawl spaces, and additions with limited access may make rewiring or adding circuits more challenging. Always consider your home’s age, layout, and proximity to the shoreline before starting electrical work.

Helpful?

East Haven homeowners are increasingly interested in electrical panel upgrades to support smart home features, including whole-house surge protection and coastal home wiring improvements. Popular trends include installing EV charging stations, outdoor-rated lighting for salt air environments, and dedicated generator transfer switches for storm readiness. Kitchen remodels often feature under-cabinet LED lighting and USB outlets, while home offices and finished basements benefit from additional outlets and data wiring.

Helpful?

Your East Haven home is well-suited for electrical projects if it has accessible crawl spaces or unfinished basements, a modern electrical panel (preferably 200 amps), and copper wiring. Signs like flickering lights, outdated fuse boxes, or a lack of GFCI protection indicate a need for upgrades. Homes near the coast may also benefit from corrosion-resistant wiring and whole-house surge protection to handle local weather conditions.

Helpful?

To keep families safe in East Haven, install tamper-resistant outlets and AFCI breakers, especially in older homes with unique wiring. GFCI outlets are essential in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas due to the coastal climate’s higher moisture levels. For added safety, consider weatherproof covers for exterior outlets, integrated nightlights in hallways, and surge protection to guard against power fluctuations during storms, which are common in shoreline neighborhoods.
