"My husband and I highly recommend Jeremy. We had power issues and Jeremy walked us through everything that was going on. He went over the pricing and stuck to it. He is quick to respond to communication. We are very happy with the work he and Austin did to correct and upgrade our electric service. We will definitely be using him for future electricity needs and recommend him highly!"

"This was by far the best contractor experience I’ve had in many years. Rob is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He was able to work within my budget and kept me informed during every stage of the process. My generator was ordered and installed in only one week, which was also very impressive. I would highly recommend Buckley & Son Electrical Contractors."

"Very professional and extremely friendly contractor. Alberto and his apprentice Chandler arrived on time and after introductions started their work. Panel upgrade with breaker and wiring installation was performed efficiently with only necessary disruption to home electrical service. Testing completed and panel breaker labeling done from old panel door. Cleanup was thorough and appreciated. I enjoyed the conversation we had during and after the job including my own DIY electrical experience. If I was going to sum my experience with A & A Electrical Contractors LLC, it would be that it is a great model for professionalism and consumer oriented business. I was given more options than other contractors. Reasonable contract pricing. Highly recommended and definitely a return customer for any future electrical needs requiring experienced professionals."

"Electrical Connection installed a transfer switch for our generator last year when other companies would not even return our calls. The work was professional, friendly and efficient. This year we called to have an outlet installed on our deck and a junction box for our new motorized awning again great friendly service. WOULD NOT CALL ANY OTHER COMPANY !!!!!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You can run a small or basic standard-size refrigerator on a 15-amp circuit. But you should plug a modern, standard-size refrigerator into a 20-amp dedicated circuit. The refrigerator needs to be on a dedicated circuit, meaning it is the only appliance and outlet on that circuit breaker. This method prevents tripping the breaker and reduces the chance of an electrical fire

Wiring can last anywhere from 50 to 70 years, but all kinds of mishaps can occur that reduce the lifespan of your electrical wiring, including severe weather conditions, pests, and even faulty wiring. Keeping a preventative maintenance scheduling and hiring an electrician for an annual electrical inspection will keep your wiring system around for as long as possible.

A ceiling light will usually have two or three wires: black, white, and sometimes green. Black wires are positive, or hot, while white wires are negative, or neutral. The green wire is the grounding wire.

When you’re wiring the light, connect black to black, white to white, and green to the grounding screw.

The average radon mitigation system uses about 876 kWh of electricity per year, although the exact amount of electricity used will vary depending on the size of the radon fan. Once the system is installed, the annual increase to your energy bill could range from $30 to $300 per year, again depending on the size of the fan.

To install an outlet from existing wiring, you’ll need to choose a location where you can already access existing wiring. The easiest way to do this is to install an outlet on the other side of the wall of an existing outlet.

Since the wiring is already in place, all you have to do is connect a new cable to the existing wiring and then connect the correct wires through the wall—to the new electrical outlet. Place your new outlet into the opening in the wall and then connect the correct wires to the appropriate terminal screws.
