"I highered Bruce and his team, we're very happy with the service. They installed a couple new baseboard heaters to our existing unit to add more heat to a few rooms that's were cooler than we liked. We're very happy and much warmer. Bruce and his team were responsive and open to everything they were doing. Fast and efficient highly recommended!"

"Matthew was very quick to get back to me and get the job done right. I had a leaking toilet that was not seated correctly so it ruined the floor beneath. I had this issue fixed 3 times before. Matthew came out and replaced the flooring underneath it and now it sits correctly on the floor and no longer leaks. I would definitely have them come back if I had any other plumbing problems"

"I was very pleased with my experience with Griswold Plumbing, they installed a new shower faucet/showerhead and later a water treatment system. They were prompt, very professional, and courteous going the extra mile when needed. I highly recommend Griswold Plumbing and won't hesitate to call them again."

"I called and asked for an estimate to convert my DHW from the oil boiler tankless coil to a 50 gallon A.O. Smith Hybrid water heater. The owner gave me an estimate same day and was able to do the installation later in the week after calling him last minute. Him and his crew were on time, very quick, extremely OCD on pipe placement and appearance of their work, and tested everything before they left. I made things difficult on them with the short timeframe and having the electrician here at the same time but they didn t complain and worked great with the electricians to get the project done for us. I had 8 different companies give me estimates and hands down they were best pricing, most honest, and friendliest company I worked with!"

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

Tankless water heaters heat water as it passes through the unit instead of storing heated water in the tank. Their ability to produce hot water on an as-needed basis makes them more efficient. However, they are generally more expensive than traditional units. Is a tankless water heater worth it? Most homeowners will save money with a tankless unit in the long run by using less energy.

When the water expands in a hot water heater, it puts pressure on your hot water pipes and can cause leaks or a rupture in the hot water tank under certain conditions. Pipes or water heaters may split due to the pressure where there is a backflow preventer that prevents the hot water heater from diffusing pressure by releasing water back to the public water line.

In these scenarios, a hot water heater expansion tank provides a place for the hot water heater to relieve pressure and prevent bursts and leaks.

While possible, professional assistance is recommended to ensure compliance with local regulations and avoidance of avoidable risks.

If you have a tank-type electric water heater, it runs regularly to keep the water at the desired temperature. If you live in a home where you don’t use much hot water, it could seem wasteful to run power to heat water that you’re using infrequently. You could save some power by using a smaller tank, insulating the tank, or lowering the temperature of the water heater.

Yes, a heat pump water heater can work in colder climates but it’s much more effective where it’s warm. The reason is that the heat pump needs ambient warmth in the air to compress. The less warmth, the more compression required, thus using more electricity and offsetting the energy-efficient benefits.
