Customers say: Super punctual

"Baldo Ambrocio has been working for us for several years and we have never been disappointed. He is a hard worker, does quality work and shows up on time. He recently replaced part of our wrap-around deck, taking out rotted wood and reinforcing it, then putting on new wood, staining and painting. He also replaced rotted railings and repainted them. We are very pleased with the results and have just hired him again to power-wash the house."

"Rich and the team from RestTech did a superb job for us. They scraped old paint, replaced worn cedar shakes, did some other carpentry work (e.g., fixing a handrail and reframing a basement window), and painted our house in a way that has earned compliments from friends and people passing on the street. They even came back to help us unstick some 100-year-old windows a few months later. Very responsive. That was two years ago. I guess we've been too busy admiring their work to write a review. But we haven't forgotten -- and in fact just hired RestTech again to paint the rooms on the first floor, which they did quickly and without any issues. Highly, highly recommended."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Routine cleaning, sealing/staining, and inspection prolong deck life and appearance.

Provided conditions are ideal, staining an entire deck should take as little as a couple of hours and up to a couple of days to apply and cure. Additional procedures, like sealing a deck or using additional treatments, may extend the project by a few additional days.

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.

The opposite is actually true: Wood stains tend to appear lighter when they’re fully dry. However, stains may darken as they weather and oxidize with age. Stains might also darken on surfaces left in direct sunlight, as UV rays can break down pigment particles and cause them to darken over time.

Always wait until the morning dew has dried before you stain your deck. The stain needs a fully dry surface to sink into.
