We hired John Arnone to rebuild our deck and can say that from the start, we knew he was the right choice to work with us. He impressed us from our very first meeting with his incredible attention to detail. John took the time to walk through exactly what the project would entail and where he would pay particular attention to be sure our deck was up to code. And best of all, John's price for the work was extremely reasonable. Once the job started, he kept us informed along the way of his schedule and what he would be doing on a particular day. Although the deck took a while to complete due to the delay in getting materials, John did exactly what he said he would and our deck came out beautiful. The deck is big (27x14) and John designed it in such a way that there are no seams and no screw holes. It’s extremely sturdy and very well anchored to the ground and to the house. The finished work was meticulously done and everyone that has seen it is amazed at the level of quality. We cannot thank John enough for all of his efforts and for the beautiful deck he has created for us. We will certainly use John for any future work we might have and highly recommend him to everyone.

I had the pleasure of working with a remarkable contractor who completed a second addition to our home. He also did out wrap around porch and deck the following year. His commitment to fairness, honesty, and precision is truly exceptional. From the start, he provided a detailed bid and timeline that he stuck to without any surprises. My husband and I have used John Arnone now three times to update our home and to add an addition for a new master bedroom. Every time, John came out to survey the area under discussion. He spent time to measure the spaces and to explain what we might be able to do. In those meetings, John explored the costs of every option on the table. He has always gone over the code requirements. This has helped us to understand why certain plans were going to work or not. John Arnone has always been a good listener. He has also been prompt to deliver proposed layouts. Once we started the discussions, he stayed on the project with his ever careful planning. As my husband and I are older, John's experience renovating living spaces for disabled veterans has made a huge difference. When we expressed our desire to stay in our home as long as possible, he knew how to approach the bathroom renovations. We were all speaking the same language. So so helpful for the average consumer! John has been scrupulous in his transparency as to costs and the needed time to finish. He is so thorough that I feel that it's his house! That attention to detail has given us a great deal of confidence. We know that if he finds "surprises" ( and he has) that he will fix it (and he has). These surprises have explained the failures of various fixtures in the house. The workmanship is so perfect. His suggestions that help us avoid a product not quite performing as we want are now expected and so appreciated. He will not cut corners or put forward a plan that is not legal or safe. We will continue to work with John. We are just beginning!

We had major water damage in our 100 year old home. Johns proposal was clear, concise and complete. He is an expert on code and follows it to the letter. The work was clean, and perfect. He kept us informed every step of the way, which is wonderful. The price was also reasonable. If I should need a contractor in the future it would definitely be John.

We've dealt with John Arnone for over 25 years now, no monkey business. Everything is professional with him & his crew. You can bounce ideas off with John and he'll give you suggestions & options. He expertly installed a HUGE Skylight between our kitchen & the dining rooms. It entailed removing existing walls that divided the kitchen & dining room then putting finishing touches on everything. John replaced a dozen of our old, inefficient windows with double-pane Andersen windows as well as a couple of storm doors. A few years ago, he installed Bow & Bay windows for us. We also had him install a large Picture Window and laminate floor in our 1st floor family room. Everything is professional-grade and all nicely done by John & his team. John completed a large single-story addition on our new home which included a new bathroom, bedroom, and remodeled kitchen. John was very patient with us and worked with us over many changes. We hired John to design and build our family room addition and bedroom/ bathroom addition. He was very detailed and informative during the design process and helped keep the project within our budget. John provided a very detailed quote including a detailed scope of work and payment plan. During construction he kept us informed on his next steps. John and his crew were very professional. He finished the project on time and we are very happy with his work. We also hired John to design and build our pool deck that came out prefect and within our budget. We will recommend Arnone Building and remodeling to anyone looking for a grey builder.

Project was going along fine until Mr. Arnone installed the spindles backwards from the inside of the deck instead of from the outside. He also failed to use pressure treated wood for a hand railing. We were upset at the appearance of the deck and hired another contractor to reverse the spindles and replace the hand railing at an additional expense of &1,500.

We recently purchased our first home, which was in desperate need of a remodel. We purchased the home via a HomeStyle Loan and needed a contractor familiar with some of the unique challenges/barriers this sort of remodel has. Throughout the entire process beginning in about February/March 2021, John has been pleasant to work with. From the day we met at the house and when he did his initial walkthrough, you could tell he was very knowledgeable. John took the time to explain what needed and should be done to ensure the home was up to code. John provided us with detailed quotes with thorough explanations and a step by step notation so we knew what to expect from he and his subcontractors. Additionally, John gave a projected start and end date, and has completed the project a couple of weeks ahead of schedule. Throughout the job, John would contact us regularly via phone calls or emails providing us with updates and would seek our input in the process. John and his subcontractors have: remodeled our kitchen, master bathroom, second bathroom, refinished our hardwood floors, installed new baseboards, added new lighting and fixtures throughout our home, added lally columns, and installed a fire door. We could not be happier with John and have already referred him to friends of our own in need of work to their home.

Yeah,no. Really doesn't.want the work. Rude and condescending. Seems like he can't be bothered,dont waste your time on this guy, if you did not know any better he would scare you away from doing whatever it was you wanted done!.

They would not come out. They gave me a ball park figure over the phone. I did not like that. I thought it was poor to give a price over the phone and then tell the customer if your not willing to pay that much money that your not even going to come out. I thought they were a little arrogant I thought. If I was not wiling to pay at least $18,000 they would not even come out. I will not use them because of their attitude.

He first had me educated on how to shop for a remodeling service (look at his website, very helpful), get estimates, and THEN choose him. He split the job into sections, completion dates and payments. He used prime materials and insulated, etc. better than the standard. His sub-contractors were also excellent and respect him. With all he had to correct in order to put in his quality work (all to code and with the correct permits), I feel I got more than I paid for. I'll use him again.
