Almost immediately after signing the contract, he began whining about his workers and being overloaded. Given that we were in the midst of a major remodel, he complained incessantly about the working conditions and criticized us, the homeowners, for our lack of project management skills. He had agreed to move our furniture in the beginning, but whined about that every day that he was on the project. After the floor was largely installed, but with significant work remaining, he demanded payment and quickly became confrontational. I understand now why that is: the floor is buckling everywhere. Here's the thing - even if it is the product, which is totally feasible, our experiences with him have been completely unprofessional. He's not working with us to try and resolve the situation, he's simply washing his hands and saying he has no culpability. I strongly advise against hiring him. But if you do, demand a detailed contract and a thorough warranty. Talk through what happens in the event of a product failure. As it is, we paid $2,500 for floors that are a trip hazard and truly dangerous. I think it's highly likely we end up in court. We filed a warranty claim in 4/11 before the first year was up to our general contractor for the general contractor to go to this subcontractor to solve the issues.
The subcontractor did provide us with a new geothermal unit (Geostar) and a new storage tank. The new Geostar geothermal unit was installed in November 2011 and a new storage tank was also installed and piping moved farther away from this tank.
The subcontractor was last out in February 2012 to fix items.
When we called the subcontractor in early 2013 for service on the boiler, he said that we would be better served to find a local contractor for service, however there are none in our immediate area. We do not understand why this subcontractor will not provide us service and any repairs on a system they had designed and they installed and in an emergency situation. Home Warranty reviews from real Angi homeowners in Westcliffe, CO
Bad. The guy is a liar and has no morals. He does not work. Smokes in your home. Takes 6 weeks to hang 20 sheets of drywall. Did illegal electrical and plumbing work without the licenses. Lied to the county. And did not live up to the terms of the agreement. He used several excuses as to why...

They addressed our problem immediately and were reasonably priced. The owner kept me apprised to when they would arrive to our home so that we knew when to expect them.

Jason provided great service on the appliances in our newly purchased home. We will definitely use him whenever we need additional work done. His work is good, his service fees are good, and he is pleasant to work with.
Very poorly. Almost immediately after signing the contract, he began whining about his workers and being overloaded. Given that we were in the midst of a major remodel, he complained incessantly about the working conditions and criticized us, the homeowners, for our lack of project management...

"It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price."

FAQs for home warranty projects in Westcliffe, CO
Many benefits come with buying a home warranty when selling your home, but there are drawbacks to consider, too.
Pros
Peace of mind of home repair coverage
Incentive for buyers
Transferability to new owners
Prevent post-sale issues
Cons
Expensive cost
Exclusions of certain features or appliances
Coverage limits
Often difficult to understand
Potential wait for claim service
On average, a home warranty costs about $1,100, ranging from $80 to $8,300, depending on your home size and its features, type of home warranty plan, and the coverage included. Your home’s location also factors into the cost of a home warranty, with areas with a higher cost of living experiencing increased warranty costs.
Additional cost to consider include:
Deductibles: $75–$125 per call
Add-ons: $2–$35 per month
Premiums: $200–$1,200 per year
Several factors make a home warranty worth it or not, especially the age of your home and the condition and age of the appliances in it. If you buy an older home with most or all original appliances, a warranty may be worth the investment as these home features are more likely to need repairs or replacements. However, if you’re buying a new-construction home, a warranty may already be included, and you may not need to use it for several years. In this case, purchasing add-ons may not be worth the cost until a few years later.
Offering a home warranty when selling can make your property more appealing to potential buyers. The warranty gives them peace of mind that many systems or appliances will be covered if they need to be repaired or replaced in the near future. Additionally, the home warranty may cover problems that arise during the home sale, such as a leaky roof or water in the basement.
The main types of home warranties cover the basic essentials, but additional plan types focus on specific areas such as:
Appliance plan: This plan covers typical household appliances like refrigerators, stoves, washer and dryer, built-in microwaves, and dishwashers. It costs $360 and $540 per year.
System plan: Costing between $360 and $540 per year, this plan covers central home systems like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and water heaters.
Combination plan: This plan type covers both systems and appliances, costing between $545 and $1,500.
