CertaPro Painters® of Colorado Springs

I contracted with Certa Pro to paint an 11-17' breakfast room with 3 windows and sliding door, 13-14' foot kitchen, butler's pantry with upper and lower cabinetry and door, and 2 walls in an adjoining stairwell. When sales representative Mike Ortiz bid the job, I made very clear I did not want any paint on my stained woodwork or cabinets. He assured me the crew would not get paint on the either. I believe these pictures, although not inclusive of everything, show some of the paint on both. The three member crew arrived and finished the entire job in four hours, including preparation, two coats of paint, and clean up. While Manny and Fidel made three trips afterward to repair the damage, including painting the ceiling in the butler's pantry which had been marked by the brush handle, some of the damage unfortunately could not be undone. On the last trip I was told the only way to avoid paint on the trim would have been to remove the trim and reinstall. I respectfully disagree, as I have had other painting in the past and there was no paint bleeding or brushstrokes on trim. I believe the damage was completely avoidable with careful and thorough preparation. I felt the crew rushed to finish the job, and while they did vacuum they left before the project manager arrived to inspect. I spent many, many hours this past weekend attempting to remove paint before it could further harden. While Manny and Fidel (supervisors) were very responsive afterward (hence three stars rather than 2), and the non-English speaking crew was very pleasant, I would not utilize Certa Pro in the future nor would I recommend. Their shortcoming was not in the large open wall areas but in the areas requiring care and precision. I did reach out to the office manager on Monday, and suggested the franchise owner may wish to call me before I leave a review, but I have yet to hear from him this Wednesday afternoon. Also, be aware they charge 3.5% for the credit card processing fee, waived only if a 5 star review is submitted.

Urgent Alert: CertaPro Painters Left Our House in Terrible Condition TLDR: CertaPro delivered a horrendous paint job and then caused extensive damage to our home—scratched hardwood floors, ruined foyer railing, stained counters, countertops, furniture, floors and fixtures- and despite admitting fault, has refused full financial responsibility. And in addition to handing our house key to an unknown third party, their crew trespassed into off limits areas, and used our utilities and bathrooms without permission. Proceed with extreme caution. We are extremely disappointed in our experience with CertaPro Painters of Colorado Springs and feel compelled to warn others. What began as a simple interior painting project turned into an appalling breach of contract, damage to our home, and a violation of our trust and privacy. Despite CertaPro ultimately "writing off" the cost of the painting due to its poor quality, this does not absolve them from responsibility for the extensive damage their crew caused to our home. This includes deep scratches to our hardwood floors, a damaged foyer railing, and paint damage on appliances, furniture, cabinets, countertops, and more. There is not a single room in our house that does not bear signs of sloppy workmanship—uneven lines, visible brush strokes, paint on furniture and floors, unfinished caulking, stained light fixtures, completely unpainted areas, and switch covers and vents painted over or ignored altogether. What’s worse: while we were home, a member of their team handed our house key over to an unknown third party—someone we had not met or approved—violating our trust and privacy. Their crew also entered areas that were off-limits, which included turning on our utilities without permission, and using our restroom- breaking one toilet and leaving fecal matter on another, and they even cleaned paintbrushes in our kitchen sink, leaving stains behind. These actions are unprofessional and unacceptable. CertaPro’s own representative acknowledged these issues- they paid for rekeying our home and for fixing the toilet. They also offered us $300-$500 for the damaged floor and railing which fell far below the professional estimates we received. Despite admitting fault, they have failed to take full financial responsibility. Explicitly refusing to compensate us fairly for the damages. Offering patch repairs or lowball compensation for the property damage by having it fixed through an affiliated contractor isn’t an acceptable solutions given the violations of safety, trust, and privacy and the poor workmanship of the individuals we allowed in our home. It also doesn’t fix the larger issue: our home is now in worse condition than before they arrived. We have documentation, third-party contractor assessments, and photographic evidence of the damage. Although we don’t typically review businesses we believe no homeowner should go through this. If you’re considering hiring CertaPro of Colorado Springs, please take this as a warning. Their failure to meet basic standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and respect for our home has caused us significant stress, expense, and disruption. Their lack of accountability has left us with deep regret for hiring CertaPro of Colorado Springs.

From the beginning (Mike doing my estimate) to the end (my painters finalizing my job and walking through it with me) it was a painless and professional experience. I had such confidence that the job would be done with expertise that my mind was put at rest and I could just turn the job over to the professionals! The painters are very talented and have such amazing attention to detail. The care and integrity displayed while on the job was impressive. They were punctual and timely while delivering a superior product. They are actually artists in the industry. The price was very competitive and respect for my home, preferences and choices were always top priority.

We didn't like anything about them. The problems were they didn't come when they said they would. They didn't do a thorough job. The crew was scary. I didn't like them. I didn't want them around and it took them a really long time. It wasn't a good experience.

CertaPro employees were professional & got the job done quickly. They were friendly & on time & they all worked so well together. They did a great job & I highly recommend this company.

The house has massive amounts of cedar eaves and tongue & grove soffits in a highly complex, high pitched roof structure. House also has post and beam structure on each of four exterior sides some over 30 feet high, a real high wire act.  None of the exterior wood had been treated for over seven years so it was in pretty rough shape.  This was a real challenge!
Tim and Louie did an outstanding job with all of it.  Just about every phase of the work required extra work and considerable problem solving. They did not settle for a straight water power wash but insisted on using cleansers and other chemicals to ensure the wood was brought back to almost new condition.  This laid the groundwork for a flawless stain application.  They displayed meticulous attention to detail, complete thoroughness in protecting other surfaces and extreme pride in their work.  The place is beautiful now.
I highly recommend this crew to anyone with a challenging painting need.  We?re bringing them back to perform some delicate stucco repair.

Santiago, Julio, & Abel arrived on time, did everything that was estimated & a bit more, were very careful with the tenants' possessions & cleaned everything up after painting.  Even made sure the windows worked.  Would give them an A+ & will have them back!

Painters Louis and Tim did an awesome job.Couldn't be happier. They were very professional and pleasant gentleman. They were at my residence from day they started and everyday until job was completed. From morning til late afternoon.They did a beautiful job. Louis and Tim were very responsible and careful about keeping my home clean and at the end of job left my home just like they found it. Clean! Will use there services again in the near future.

Mike was very responsive when I requested a quote.  I had issues with another provider, and the third was very expensive, so I decided to go with Certapro.  The team arrived on time and left the yard as if they had never been there.  I have extensive landscaping, and there was no damage to the plants.  When they completed the job, my house looked brand new!  I would definitely use them again.

Quality of work was excellent. Workers showed up on time and completed the job as scheduled.
