"I am extremely happy with every part of the experience with the Louver Shop. The salesman was prompt, courteous and very informative. The installer, Joe, was meticulous, very neat and clean with the installation. The plantation shutters are beautiful and I will definitely purchase more for the windows on the back of my house in the near future. The price was r=very reasonable. I am happy to highly recommend The Louver Shop"

"Excellent experience with this company from the first call to schedule a bid to the final inspection. It was clear when we first called the Egress INC office that this company offers superior customer services. The women we spoke with on our initial call to schedule an appointment were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. They gave an overview of the bidding process and a gross estimate of the costs. The owner came out to provide a very detailed estimate and provided a potential timeline. Again, clearly knowledgeable and very professional individual. There was no high pressure sales, but instead a detailed explanation of the company, its employees and the work. We immediately felt a sense of reassurance that the work would be completed by experts. The installation team was equally professional, polite, pleasant and extremely respectful of our home. Prior to each day of work we were fully informed of the schedule and work to be preformed. all work was completed on time and, in fact, a day ahead of the original schedule. The office staff did a great job of keeping us informed of the county inspection schedule, including a follow up call to make sure all had gone well. The inspector commented that the job was well done. A few days later we had another basement remodeling professional out for a quote on finishing our basement. He commented that the job was well done and that he often needs egress window installs on his projects and asked for Egress INC contact information. Without hesitation we highly recommend Egress INC. We cannot say enough about how highly satisfied we are with the total experience! Trifecta: Great people, great work, great company!"

"The workman did a very good job and he pointed out where a couple of windows might need to be replaced, as well as a couple of screens. He wasn't pushy trying to sell me something I wasn't ready to buy at this time."

Metal is one of the best types of hurricane shutters because they are the most durable and longest lasting option. This shutter type will likely cost more than other materials like plywood, but metal hurricane shutters are a permanent solution compared to the temporary nature of putting plywood over your windows during a hurricane. You should also consider hurricane panels and automatic roll-down shutters that are useful for emergency situations.
In most cases, custom window treatments are well worth the investment. Custom window treatments not only elevate your curb appeal and make your home more visually pleasing inside, but they also often do a better job of boosting your home’s energy efficiency than non-custom treatments, and they usually last longer. Plus, specialty window treatments can increase your home value if maintained well, so your investment is more worthwhile in the long run in most cases, too.
Hurricane shutters cost about $3,700 on average, ranging from $1,500 to 5,900, depending on the style, size, materials, and your location. Materials may include metal, plastic, fabric, or wood.
Additional cost factors to consider include the number of windows, the time of year you install, and necessary permits. Keep in mind that if you purchase and install hurricane shutters during hurricane season, namely June through November in most states, you can expect to pay more due to increased demand.
Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.
Custom window treatments cost around $900 per window, and prices usually fall between $150 and $4,800. Your total will depend on many factors, including the type of window treatment, the amount and size of the windows, your home’s location, and the labor cost. Blinds and shutters tend to be the most affordable custom window treatments at $600 to $2,700, and the most expensive options are valances, drapes, curtains, and estate shutters, costing up to $3,000.
