"This review is associated with the same review below from [Member Name Removed] as [Member Name Removed] lives with [Member Name Removed]. After our roof installation passed city inspection, [Member Name Removed] still thought some items needed attention and he requested a third-party inspection. Tiley paid for two third-party inspections which both passed. We attempted to remediate cosmetic issues with the roof but after [Member Name Removed] threatened to shoot the owner of Tiley Roofing, our staff no longer felt safe to be on-site. [Member Name Removed] is withholding 50% of payment due despite his roof passing three separate inspections. We are currently in a lawsuit to collect this overdue balance. [Member Name Removed] had pursued a construction defect claim but the case has since been dropped, yet payment is still being withheld. Additionally, total project cost was about $30K, not $300K. While "the customer is always right," [Member Name Removed] has been the single worst client Tiley Roofing has ever worked with in 23 years. We would hope that this experience is an outlier compared to our many other satisfied clients."

- Horrible experience.
They ordered the wrong shingle and only because I was home when it was delivered was this error caught. On sight guy assured me it was the correct shingle. I had the call the manufacturer and have them email me to prove it was not.
Then, with the house sitting in underlayment only waiting for new shingles, rain was forecast. I tried three times via phone, text and email to get Tiley Roofing to come out before it rained to double check the under layment. They did not.
Roof leaked during the rain storm. Caused over $6,000 damage to my house. Kirk Tiley (the owner) was way more concerned about how to minimize his costs than he was about taking care of my and the situation his company had created. He interfered with Delta Disaster that did the remediation work telling them to stop work as he was going to do it himself. He demanded I use his "handy man" to put my house back together instead of a contractor I had used for years on other projects.
Roof got installed several weeks after the leak when correct shingles arrived. They attempted to install the attic fan which I had specified be installed with a thermostat so it would not turn on in the winter (which is not necessary or helpful in Colorado's cold dry winter climate). They failed to order a switch that worked with the fan they ordered and tried to blame me for the error because during the sales process I sent them a link of an *example* of what I wanted.
Had a third party roofer inspect the roof. Realized that the ridge that was installed did not match the field -- was significantly more green in color. Tiley sent a guy out weeks later to install new ridge and he came right back down saying the new stuff he had was exactly the same and he is shocked that the ridge was ever installed because it clearly does not match. About 8 weeks later new ridge was shipped and installed that matched.
During all of this Kirk Tiley barely even apologized and never personally offered to make things right through any financial accommodation. Rather, he sent it to his insurance company and I ended up negotiating with a third party claims administrator.
More than 8 months later my roof is finally done and house back in order. Got a $3,000 discount for all of my trouble...yippie.
To be fair, Tiley Roofing did do all the work along the way even though I had not paid them a penny (would you?). I did not pay them anything until the work was finally completed. And, I refused to sign their insurance company's release form which would have eliminated my ability to get coverage from them if I ever had mold or other future issues from this and Tiley went ahead and ate the $3,000 themselves.
But what a nightmare made worse by the fact that Tiley Roofing cared most about minimizing their costs in the incident instead of focusing on fixing the problems they caused and making things right with their customer.
Suggest you go to a different roofer.
2. installed wrong color gutters and wouldn't change to match house color as initially contracted
3. replaced skylight that didn't need to be replaced and then new skylight leaks

I contacted many local companies, many of which never returned my calls and web requests for estimates. To request an estimate from Tiley, I filled out the web request form on their web site. I made sure to note that this was not an insurance claim - we would be paying out of pocket. I wasn't sure how that might affect the response but it turned out never to be problem. Tiley was one of three companies who ultimately gave me a quote. I worked with Klint Tiley for the quote. He was very easy to work with, he answered all my questions and I never felt like I was talking with salesman - no pressure or upselling. The estimate was reasonable and in line with the others. Their contract was also reasonable. I'm not sure many realize this but not all contracts are the same and some of these roofing companies have contracts that are ridiculous in their attempt to avoid responsibility for any damage during or after the work. That is just crazy. Please do yourself a huge favor and make sure to read these contracts before making your decisions.
Based on all of these factors, I chose Tiley. I signed the contract and we set things up to get started. They called me the next day to schedule the start date.
Once the project was scheduled to be started, I quickly had some concerns as a huge storm was projected to roll in. In order to alleviate my concerns, Kirk Tiley contacted me. He answered my questions and worked with me to set up a schedule that I was comfortable with. We agreed that we would start after the storm and it turned out to be a very big storm! I very much appreciated the flexibility they showed to alleviate my concerns.
They started the following week (after the storm) and the project went very well. The most important thing to me was that it was a no-hassle process with no surprises. Once they started, their crew was there promptly each morning and we never had any issues. They were very considerate of our property and they took the extra care necessary to prevent any damage to the landscaping and property. They did exactly what they said they would do and kept the work area very clean.
The new roof looks great and works just like it should.
Overall, their on-site crew and office staff are all very professional and courteous. When I received the final paperwork I was pleasantly surprised that they had included a special insurance form we needed confirming our impact-resistant shingles. it was just one more little thing that all adds up.
In all, it was a positive experience and I will hire them again and recommend them to others.
"Member, Thank you for taking the time to review our company on Angie's List. We greatly appreciate it! As for your damages to the downspouts I will be in contact with you regarding those things. We have systems in place now that help us to repair any damages we make while performing the install. If these are still issues we certainly would like an opportunity to make it right. We truly regret that our foreman failed to follow up with you regarding those issues. Sincerely, The Tiley Roofing staff"
