"Drew and the crew were great from start to finish! They replaced 4 interior doors, painted them, fixed a door jam, and did some light drywall repair and painting. We're more than satisfied and definitely recommend."

Customers say: Quality work

"We are so happy to have hired One Window At a Time to replace over half of the windows in our house. Bruce was knowledgeable and professional and explained the installation process and answered all my questions. They helped us redesign our front picture window and also installed new sliding glass doors. Clear and efficient communication and superb work done in less than 2 days."

"BBCI showed up on-time, did the dirty work and wrapped up on-time. The workers were cordial. The work itself is very dirty and there was a lot of mud. We are still finding broken glass in the mud but given the work to remove an old iron window and the rain/mud at the time, it’s understandable but unfortunate. The crew also removed 2 large juniper bushes which was AWESOME! I’ll definitely recommend this company to anyone I know asking about egress window work."

"They were the only company who gave me the option to only replace the glass of the windows rather than the entire frame. Happy with their service. It did take many months to get the glass ordered and installed."

"Absolutely great. My only regret is that I didn't have Paulo (aka BK Contractors) replace the roof as well. Two of Paulo's employees, Luis and Vincente, did the work. Both were personable and professional and truly knew what they were doing, They worked long days and yet were always willing to answer questions. Each evening, no matter how late, the site was left clean with all tools/ladders put away, nails picked up, and debris blown away. Whenever I asked for something, Paulo's response was always, "No problem." I have recommended the company to several of my friends, and I don't often do this."

"Great experience. Andrea was familiar with the manufacturer of our window wells and let us know she carries the covers made by that manufacturer. She knows her product and delivered the next day (even though it was Saturday). Great service from a real pro who is a local, small business owner."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

While finding your mirror cracked can be spooky, there are actually many logical and common reasons why this happens. First, the mirror may have been mounted unevenly in the first place. Over time, poor mounting leads to stress points that will eventually cause a mirror to crack. Other common causes of a mirror spontaneously cracking include dramatic temperature shifts, strong thunder or a loud crash somewhere in the distance, exposure to heat and sunlight, and an uneven wall in your home. It's also possible that your mirror had a manufacturing defect or microscopic cracks that occurred during glass cutting or handling that eventually caused it to shatter.

For small cracks, glass-bonding glue that can be pressed into cracks may be able to save a broken mirror. If a corner of a mirror has been chipped, you may be able to conceal the fact by adding a border or frame to the mirror. Deeper cracks and chips should be addressed by a glass-restoration professional if you're trying to preserve an antique or heirloom mirror.

Bathroom mirrors weigh between 6 and 13 pounds, depending on the size. A 16x20-inch mirror weighs 6 pounds, while a 24x36-inch bathroom mirror weighs 12.5 pounds. Large mirrors, such as a 30x40-inch mirror, weigh 46 pounds. When installing or hanging a bathroom mirror, have a neighbor or partner assist you in lifting and holding the mirror in place. A second set of eyes can also help ensure the mirror is centered and level.

To maintain a glass shower door, clean it regularly with a non-abrasive cleaner to prevent soap scum and hard water stains. Using a squeegee after each use is also recommended. Additionally, periodically check for leaks and ensure all hardware remains secure to prevent long-term damage.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.
