"The Diagnostic Guys are our go to for anything electrical. They have done great work updating our light fixtures, adding new lighting (indoor and outdoor) and adding outlets. They are always courteous, prompt and meticulous about the details. Couldn’t be happier with the services they’ve provided for us!"

"It doesn't get much better than the two young men - Theo and Jason - who came out to do the work. Of course, they light fixture was was a "no-brainer" for them. They were just so personable, informative, very honest! They did not do the TV as they were not comfortable with what was behind the wall (I live in a condo) and didn't feel they could do an adequate, professional job. I so appreciated their honesty. Leading Edge will be my go to electricians from now on!"

"Kyle was friendly and knowledgable. Explained why my dining room light fixture was flickering. While here checked my outside panel and inside breaker box and did a panel tuneup. Very thorough"

"So it's Friday night and my husband and I decide to pick up take out for dinner. We load our dog in the car and we're off..gone 60-75 minutes. When we return, we walk in from the garage and it's raining in our kitchen. I'm not talking a trickle down the wall but a full on down pour. The toilet in our master bath had overflowed while we were gone...they estimate between 1500-2000 gallons of water worked their way through one side of our house. In addition to water coming through all of the can lights in the ceiling on the main level AND in the basement, the microwave took on a life of its own and started flashing like a Christmas tree bulb. If it wasn't so terrible it would be funny. I called the claim line for my insurance provider, they told me they would get someone to our house in less than 2 hours. By this time it's nearly 10pm on Friday night and I'm thinking who in the world would come out this late (and it was snowing no less). Lo and behold, just before midnight the crew from Above All was here...they immediately started tearing out carpet padding and rolling in the fans/dehumidifiers. They left just before 3am - it was a heroic effort. Since then (we are on day 6 now), they have been out every single day to check on things, move fans around, answer our questions, etc. The insurance adjuster even commented on their level of workmanship. We're still in the remediation phase but if you EVER have water damage in your home PLEASE call Marc with Above All. They are professional, courteous, kind, helpful...they have been a tremendous blessing throughout this entire process. We feel respected, taken care of and HEARD -- you will NOT be sorry if you work with them!"

My name is Craig Nelson, and my business Nelson Family Construction is independently owned and operated by me. I enjoy taking on residential remodel work for clients who are unable or simply do not wish to the on the work themselves. I hope to provide my clients with valuable services and a professional experience that involves relieving risk, stress, and fear from their lives while bringing them peace, joy, and satisfaction. While I find myself doing a lot of tile work (remodel and new construction), I also enjoy other aspects of residential work. I am adept with basic electrical, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, and trim work. I have done my fair share of odds and ends from basic handyman jobs to full-scale home remodels. I am more than happy to give free estimates and even some free consultation to help you walk through the various stages of your project with confidence.

"My appointment time was between 8am and 10 am. The installer (Enrique) arrived at 8:03 am . I had already decided where I wanted the fan to be installed. Enrique looked over the job and said that the location was fine. We talked for about 10 minutes about how the fan would be most effective. Enrique gave me his advice (he has been doing these installations for years). I declined his suggestion for additional vents, since I had a "full ridge vent" installed with my new roof last year. There was no pressure from Enrique, and he assured me that I can have additional vents installed later if need be. When the installation was complete, Enrique demonstrated how the fan works, the distance that the house windows should be opened and other helpful information. It is unbelievable how much air is moved thru the house with this appliance. It is going to be great! Enrique told me that the fan would be noisier in the hallway where I wanted the fan installed...the sound echos in that type of space. Indeed while standing in the hallway, it seems noisy, but in the very next room, the volume was not enough to interfere with watching TV. There is very little noise when the fan is switched to low. Enrique was prompt, professional, courteous, pleasant and well groomed. He respected that I was the customer. He covered the area he was working in and cleaned up when done. He worked quietly...as much as one can when using tools. He is efficient at his job. The whole job was done from knock on the door to driving down the driveway in about 3.5 hours. It is April, and I am sure when Denver gets its streak of 90 degree weather this fan will give the results I want. By the way....Enrique arrived in a fairly new, clean, well organized, well stocked van. This service was top-notch!!! In addition, Seymour, apparently the owner of this shop, interacted with me per email several times last summer, as I was trying to coordinate the fan installation with the new roof project. He spent considerable time giving me information. When I emailed 2 weeks ago I got exactly the appointment time I wanted. Great service all around."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

In many cases, installing or replacing a light fixture on your own is a reasonable afternoon DIY job, and you can easily learn how to install a light fixture yourself. If the light fixture requires new switches, cuts into your drywall or ceiling, new wiring, or any other more complex task, it might be worth calling a local contractor who has the right knowledge and expertise.

An exterior lighting professional will normally be able to complete hardwired lighting installation in a day or two, depending on the size of the project, and they can install battery-powered or solar-powered lights in just a few hours. DIYing the project will often take a bit longer, but you can typically install battery- or solar-powered exterior lighting in a single weekend.

Yes, tackling blown fuses and broken light bulbs is definitely safe. Fixing the wiring on a strand of Christmas lights isn’t a good idea, though, because of the danger of shock and fire. However, if you don’t feel comfortable working with any type of electricity, consider hiring a professional Christmas light installer to manage the job safely and efficiently.

Pendant lights make a worthy addition to your home lighting, and you can find them in almost every style. The average cost to install a light fixture is $550, and labor is the highest cost. You can DIY a light fixture replacement in an afternoon and save a couple of hundred dollars, depending on the fixture. If you’re not confident working with electrical components, an electrician in your area can easily install your pendant lighting for you.

When hanging a chandelier, the distance from the ceiling depends on the room and height. For standard 8-9 foot ceilings, chandeliers in living areas or bedrooms should hang 7 feet from the floor. In dining rooms, the chandelier should be placed 30-34 inches above the table.

For higher or vaulted ceilings, adjust accordingly, ensuring the chandelier remains balanced and visually appealing. Aim for chandeliers in entryways to be 7 feet from the floor or adjust for high ceilings to make a grand statement. Always consider the room's function and the desired lighting effect to achieve the perfect placement.
