"These are your guys! Chris and his team did an excellent job for an unbeatable price. I had a 3 zone sprinkler system installed as well as drip zones to my roses, garden and newly planted trees. The work was done in a day and you could not even tell where they dug up my grass and mulch. Amazing work."

"We had totally clogged downspouts and the drainage pipes were embedded with roots in two locations. This job required more necessary work than initially anticipated. Jon and his assistant worked quickly to remedy our issues and I?m confident we be in good shape for the rains."

"My first time using a lawn seed service - could not be more satisfied. Brian communicated with me frequently about the job and schedule. We made a couple of date changes due to weather - again I could not be more pleased. Brian guided me how to prepare the yard and what to expect. He arrived as planned, was very pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Brian and SeedSprayers. Certain to work with him on my next project."

"The treatment on our lawn was fine, but there was no way just to get single aeration done; we had to sign up for a reoccurring service. The next time they came out the treat the lawn it was for a treatment we had not asked for and they did not give us a heads up. We just found the bill for several hundred dollars on our door. When I asked them not to come again until we called them in the spring, I got a call about once a week badgering us to buy more services. Again, the treatment was fine but just not worth the hassle. I would go with someone else."

"I contacted several companies through Home Advisor and liked Highland Hardscapes the best. Cesar Grajales worked with me to get a schedule that would work for both of us. He is an extremely hard worker and did a fantastic job on our brick paver patio, laying it out in exactly the design I wanted. I had him come back a month later to add some wide block steps down to the lawn level. He did an excellent job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him."

"After my Father's unexpected passing, my Mom has been left with all the house duties that her used to take care of for her. I decided to find a service to help for the winter with snow removal and I couldn't be happier with these guys. Every time it snows they come out to clear the snow automatically and they do a great job. I plan to have them help this summer with lawn mowing also."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

The best way to clean artificial turf is to use a stiff-bristled broom or rake to loosen up any large debris once a week. The process will also redistribute the infill material that keeps your turf blades standing up straight and evenly. For artificial turf maintenance, do not vacuum your turf or apply cleaning solutions. If you need to rinse the blades, spritz them with a light hose.

If you don’t remove a bush properly, it’ll come back each year. Removing the root system entirely is the only way to ensure the plant doesn’t have a chance to grow back. You can also use natural weed killers or you can choose to suppress the area with landscaping fabric. Additionally, consider planting alternative, non-invasive vegetation to deter the return of thorn bushes.

In general, expect to mulch your leaves about once or twice every fall. You want there to be a decent amount of leaves on the ground, but not too much where it’s difficult for the mower to cut through.

Trees that provide a habitat to bats and an abundance of bugs—their main food source—will attract bats to your yard. Because the North American landscape has changed so much in recent years, bats have a harder time finding trees with cavities to shelter in. If your yard has a dead or dying tree with a lot of sun exposure, bats will likely be drawn to it because trees with those features are less common.

In most cases, it’s better to remove rocks before adding mulch. Layering the two will restrict drainage and plant health, and can create an unpleasant texture underfoot.
