If you recently tightened screws to fix a loose doorknob, the issue is likely that you over tightened them. Doing so binds the turning mechanism, which will prevent your doorknob from bouncing back when you turn and release it. To fix this problem, loosen the mounting screws just a little so that the knob bounces back as expected but doesn’t wiggle. If this doesn’t fix the issue, try loosening the knob, centering it in the boring hole, and then tightening it.

Worn-out, broken, or damaged rollers are the most likely culprit for sliding doors that can’t seem to stay on the tracks. Replacing the rollers is a straightforward repair that will help keep your door in the track and make opening and closing it easy. Once you’ve replaced the rollers, be sure to clean and inspect them regularly to keep them in good condition.

Regularly clean, lubricate hinges, and inspect hardware to prolong the lifespan and functionality of your doors.

While cabinet door hinges come in many shapes and sizes, they typically have some adjustment options, so check your hinge design thoroughly. If you find hinges without adjustment screws, they’re often amateur works or very simple constructions. In these cases, you don’t have as many options. You can try unscrewing the hinges and carefully repositioning them with the help of a level to fix cabinet door issues. But it may be easier to replace the hinges entirely rather than go through this tedious process.

There are a few reasons why your storm door won’t close when the front door closes. One possible explanation is that there’s air trapped between the two doors. If your door has a glass insert, try cracking it open slightly for better circulation. 

Alternatively, there might be an issue with your storm door closer. If you have a hold-open washer, make sure to slide it all the way toward the hinges before shutting the door. You can also try adjusting the tension on the closer.
