WOW! Seriously, J&J Construction did an AWESOME job throughout our Build Your Own Basement program. Jeremy and Dan were communicative, quick to respond, and thorough. I didn't go more than a few hours without a response whenever I had a question. If I ran into any issues with the sub-contractors, they were quick to jump right in and demand replacements / repairs. We also passed our initial and our final inspections with the city on our very first try both times. This is an easy 5 star review. Quick guessing and call them already!

J&J construction did an excellent job finishing our basement. They completed our 900 sq. ft. basement in about 3 months, and it turned out better than we expected. There were moments when communication wasn't great, but Jeremy was always quick to make things right, which is rare these days. Almost all of the subcontractors were on time, respectful, and patient with our needs. And J&J's "build your own basement" program definitely saved us money compared to the other contractors we reached out to. We will definitely be recommending to others!

J & J Construction did a great job finishing our basement. Jeremy, Dan, and all the subcontractors were very easy to work with and very professional and communicative. We went with J&J as they had the had the Build Your Own Basement program which allowed us to do some of the work and save a lot of money. Jeremy also worked with us to draw up a layout that fits our needs. We would definitely work with J&J again!

We had our basement refinished with J&J’s “Build Your Own Basement” program. The entire process went smooth. I was impressed right out of the gate when Jeremy already had the home builder’s original plans for the basement configuration. He put some digital models together and presented them to us. We were sold! He provided an easy-to-follow list of instructions for each phase of the project, as well as a list of preferred contractors for all the things for which we were responsible (e.g., paint, trim, flooring, etc.). Jeremy and Dan the project foreman were always very responsive when we had questions/concerns. If you’re ready to pull the trigger on a basement project, definitely contact J&J!

I did the Build your own Basement option. Overall a good experience that was less expensive than other options and let me have a part in the work. Dan was the supervisor and he was always very responsive and made sure any mistakes were fixed in a timely manner. My only complaint was with the drywall guys who left quite a mess that took about 5 hours to cleanup. Besides that, the experience was good and any problems I had were quickly fixed.

My wife and I are Teachers for the past 30 years and we do our HW before selecting a company. We cannot afford to fix problems that typically arise in home construction, so, honesty, integrity, and reputation are obviously, very important. We also expect a high level of competence, after all, this is our home. After interviewing Jeremy, we recognized immediately that we were dealing with a highly competent professional who takes great pride in his work. Throughout the process, he was on top of any problems that arose, addressed them timely, and he delivered beyond what we expected. His prices are very competitive, his crew has been working together for over a decade; their skill level was amazing and our basement came out beautiful. Even the Permit Inspectors were impressed as two different ones commented how impressive J&J's work was. Jeremy and Dan are people you can fully trust and I highly recommend them.

We worked with Jeremy, Dan, and their contractors to completely finish our unfinished basement we moved in with last year. It took about 4-5 months. Working with Jeremy was great from the beginning, and remains great after work completion. He is always willing to help, respond, and address any issue that needs addressing--and he does so with a heart integrity and desire to help. Dan has been outstanding in supervising and taking care of any in home issues that need attention. Their work is fantastic, and they give you the freedom to choose any contractor you find and choose along the way that may be different from theirs after the initial framing, hvac install, and a few other big jobs. Definitely saved us 20 grand plus in the end, probably more. Not a bad tradeoff at all for doing a bit more coordination on our end (which actually helped my wife and I to be on the same page and feel better about what we were investing in). Can't recommend J&J Construction enough. We'd work with them again anytime and recommend them to anyone. What they have going is unique and needed, and they are absolutely solid people with excellent character. Big thanks to the team!

Overall, WOW! This is a great company with a great system in place for making a basement you love while saving a lot of money and a ton of headache doing it yourself. We were looking for a company that would let us do some of the finishing work to save money on our basement remodel. Several companies were either uncomfortable with this or priced it high like we were not doing the finishing work ourselves. But this company is set up to save money and time! They have the entire process down to a science and as an amature DIYer, I was able to head up the project. We did run into a couple bumps. Mostly with the drywaller dragging their feet and our cabinets not being ordered on time (twice). Both of which messed with our timeline and were the fault of other contractors, not J and J. We also had a couple of billing issues with J and J (double bill for an item, incorrect billing from the electrician and a bill meant for another customer). I would be extra diligent as a client to check all bills before paying for errors. But in the end, these were easily resolved. They were able to turn around a 1,100 sq ft basement with a full bathroom, extensive wet bar, 2 bedrooms and a living area from studs to finished in around 3 months. Super prompt and quality work. I loved that with a couple exceptions, all the supplies and workers came through our basement windows and did not bother us upstairs. Also, they did not set up a dumpster or porta potty both of which would have violated our HOA. I also loved that they handled all of the filing and permitting needed. They were also very good about making the basement how we wanted it, even when we wanted to change the plans a little (i.e. adding a dishwasher last minute). Dan is great! Everything was very prompt and our basement is an absolutely fabulous living space!!!!

We contracted with J&J construction on their DIY program to add an en-suite bathroom to an existing bedroom in our basement. Although the bathroom is small, the unfinished space required quite a bit of work as it was not plumbed so they had to jackhammer a significant trench run (20’) through the concrete basement. They did a great job working around finished spaces and we’re very happy with the final result. Jeremy, the owner, is easy to work with. He has a lot of projects going on but I was able to text questions or concerns and he always responded quickly. Dan, the site supervisor, was friendly and responsive. They worked around our vacation and two surgeries that happened during our construction, which we really appreciated. I was proactive in pushing the project forward by always questioning what needed to be scheduled/done for the next 1-3 days, maybe too much, but they never pushed back. I would use J&J again, if needed and I am happy to recommend them to fellow homeowners.

We used J&J Construction to finish our basement. They did a wonderful job and ultimately, we are satisfied with how everything turned out. Dan (the foreman) was very responsive to our needs and is quick to reply to any communication. The only two issues we had during the process are: 1) We wanted the basement open from the main level and this was forgotten during the framing process, though we would have liked this option, we didn't want to delay construction and decided to proceed without having this corrected. 2) The closet leading into our utility room was not drywalled so it looks unfinished even when the closet doors are closed. Dan let us know that this is because we hung folding doors and should have used sliding doors, however; not only did we communicate to Dan that we would be using folding doors, it is not complete either way. We will have to finish this ourselves which is frustrating but not the end of the world. Overall, I would recommend J&J construction. Jeremy is a great salesmen and definitely a people person. After the contract is signed, you don't really hear much from Jeremy at all as he turns the project over to Dan to run point. There is so much that goes into a basement project that we didn't realize beforehand. The two major issues that I mentioned are really two things that went wrong out of so many that actually went right and flawless, we recognize and appreciate that! We are overall satisfied with adding an additional bedroom, bathroom, and living space to our home!

We are overall very pleased with the outcome of my basement. At first, we were a little intimidated about “build your own basement” for the reason we wanted minimal involvement because we knew nothing about building construction. Phase I went fairly quickly with the layout, framing, drywall and other materials. We thought phase 2 would be the most difficult part, but it turned out to be very easy, we simply followed the schedule we were given along with the provided list of vendors and sub-contractors, and all went like clockwork. Overall, the build your own basement program was just the right amount of handling on our part, we were involved enough to get custom materials/fixtures to our liking and on our time schedule. We also liked the idea of having Dan, the foreman, who was able to answer all our questions and serve as the cross point between myself and the experts. The basement came out great, a seamless match to the upstairs.

The entire process was as smooth as I could hope for. We were new to the Colorado Springs area, so I went to Angi's List to get recommendations. From day 1, Jeremy was professional, courteous and explained the entire process to me and my wife. We had several bids from other contractors but the professionalism and attention to detail from J&J was unmatched. After we agreed on the project, the project manager began the process. Dan was a true professional and was with me every step of the way to make sure I was satisfied and the work stayed on track. All of the contractors arrived as scheduled and the work was done on time and without any issues. Passed all of our inspections and the extra room has made for a perfect office for me. The checklist of what would happen, when it would happen, and who was responsible gave me great relief to know J&J had this down to a science. I highly recommend J&J for any construction needs.

J & J provided us with a positive remodel experience. From start to finish, they were timely, professional, and performed good work. Anytime we had an issue, their team addressed it and made it right. As with all projects of this type, we inspected the work at each stage to be sure that what we wanted was what was being accomplished (note: the house was built 3 years ago, and we went through step-by-step and did the same thing when the house was being built, because there always will be issues to be addressed). In the end, we are pleased with the quality of the job and the great customer service of J & J.
