"We had a small 400 SF basement that was finished. Jim did a great job, even when some of the details from the way condo was built presented some challenges. We were able to get a small room, full bathroom and small laundry area built and it looks great. Jim was easy to work with as far as choice of colors and materials ect. He kept in communication when items were not available and he presented other options. Working with Jim was easy when we changed some items in the middle of project."

"Steve Gold met our price range, was more knowledgeable and conscientious about the details of finishing our basement than other contractors and was able to start sooner. His brother Robert oversaw the project with a skilled crew who took time to ask us about details and suggest better use of space than we had planned. They worked hard and steadily through the framing, insulation, and every step to make our dream come true. We doubled the size of our usable space and it's a thrill to see it all so beautiful."

"Josh and Hometown Construction did a fabulous job on our basement remodel! They were communicative, professional, and showed up on time. All of the subcontractors were also professional and did a fabulous job. Josh regularly came to check on progress of work being done, and he personally took care of any typical construction issues ASAP. They went above and beyond to finish the job to our standards and on time, and they never nickel and dimed us. I’ve already recommended Hometown Construction to friends and family, and I’ll continue to recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home or basement!"

"I originally hired Emilio to remove popcorn ceiling ,re-texture and paint. I was really impressed with the work they performed. In fact, because of the great job they did, I had them install new doors for and and also re-texture one of my bathrooms. The price was reasonable, they were always on time, they kept me updated on where they were with each project. I plan on hiring them again to do more work in my home."

"I worked with Owen on a few projects at a duplex I own. He tiled a bath and kitchen and installed baseboard. He did a beautiful job. He also ended up being able to cut down a 20' palm tree and remove the stump at a very reasonable price. He saved me almost $1000 from what a tree service company estimated it would cost to remove a haul away. Owen also did some heavy pruning and did a nice job on that and a awsome clean up. I plan on hiring him again for some other jobs I have pending."

"Francisco Garcia did an excellent job finishing our basement. The work quality is excellent. The communication and flexibility throughout the project was excellent. The project finished on time within budget with zero surprises. Any concerns that arose were addressed expeditiously and professionally. I highly recommend Colorado Paradise Builders for your next project. The building inspections were coordinated by Colorado Paradise Builders and passed easily. We learned while talking to the inspectors that we had a gift by using Francisco as a general contractor. They mentioned other people in the business may not provide the level of customer service and professionalism which Colorado Paradise Builders demonstrated on our basement finishing project. I could not be more enthusiastic with a recommendation."

Unless you have extensive experience in construction work, remodeling a basement is best left to a professional. There are several tasks associated with this project that require exact precision, including:
Replacing insulation
Replacing carpet or other flooring
Adding heating and cooling
Adjusting or adding walls and doors
Altering or adding plumbing elements
If any of these elements is done incorrectly, it could severely impact the quality of your basement remodel and be dangerous. Changing a basement often comes with code safety requirements, like egress windows and proper ventilation. Therefore, leaving it up to a professional is often the best decision.
The cost to finish a basement is $18,400 for the average homeowner. However, this cost could be as little as $2,800 or as much as $34,500, depending on the basement size and the materials needed. If your basement is already outfitted with electrical and plumbing, expect the cost to fall on the lower end.
For example, the drywall cost for this project averages around $1,750, but other features, like hiring a plumber, cost between $45 and $200 per hour.
The cost to remodel a basement is between $12,100 and $33,400 for the average homeowner. The price you pay can be as little as $3,500 or as much as $50,200, depending on the size and condition of your basement and the type of remodel you're doing.
If you're doing a simple project like adding a home office to your basement, you can expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $3,000. However, if you're adding a bathroom, which is an extensive project, you can expect to pay between $6,600 to $16,500.
Since DIYing a basement remodel isn't typically advised, there are some ways that you can still save money on this project without putting yourself in danger. Some ways to save money on a basement remodel include:
Painting walls yourself versus including in the cost of the remodel
Installing light fixtures yourself
Choosing prefabricated fixtures, like cabinets, over custom ones
Choosing a budget-friendly flooring option, like laminate or vinyl flooring, and add rugs where necessary
Although homeowners often use the terms basement remodeling and basement finishing interchangeably, they are quite different terms.
Finishing a basement is the process of taking a basement space that is not habitable and adding elements to make it usable. This includes adding plumbing, flooring, and insulation.
Remodeling a basement means taking an already existing finished basement and changing it, often by adding or removing walls, adding plumbing, or changing the existing flooring.
