"I wanted to receive quotes for a siding project from several companies and debella debt out Blake & Brady for the initial quote. They were very friendly and professional and unlike other companies respected the fact I wanted to do this in February. They were very supportive and didn't try to pressure a same day sale. The actually spent over 5 hours at my home going over all the details and answering my questions. The found the right serv6fir me within my budget so I signed up now for them to start in February. They are one of only 2 actual certified james hardie color plus installers in idaho in I feel confident they will do a fantastic job."

"I received Ron's contact information from Home Advisor and all communications were by phone or email. I never met Ron until he delivered the completed work at my home. I sent him a few photos of a vanity I had seen online and gave him the dimensions specific to the project. We discussed details regarding the construction and the type of wood to be used-- quarter sawn oak. The communication throughout the building process was superb, he sent photos of the possible finishes for me to select from, and our discussions were friendly and confidence inspiring. The finished custom, solid wood vanity he delivered is exactly what I had hoped for and made of incredible quality. It is a terrific unique piece of furniture, exceptionally well made. He charged me exactly what we had agreed upon at the onset of the project. I absolutely will call on Ron again if I need another quality piece of furniture for my home, and I definitely recommend that others call him too."

"Jordan is such a blessing. As a disabled woman I hired him to repair my toilet and he got the job done on schedule for a very reasonable price. I've since hired him for misc projects and he tends to my lawn on a weekly basis. Very reasonable rates from a reliable, hardworking and trustworthy young man."

Siding questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of vertical siding depends on the type of material used and whether it’s properly maintained. For instance, vinyl siding can last between 20 and 30 years, while fiber cement siding can last up to 50 years. Remember that the type you choose will depend on how much maintenance it will require to prolong its longevity.

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.

New siding improves curb appeal, insulation, and protection from moisture and pests.

Not wrapping a house before installing siding can lead to moisture intrusion, rot, mold, and even higher energy bills. Older houses may have siding installed without wrap underneath, so it’s a good idea to add a wrap layer when it comes time to replace old siding to prevent potential damage from water intrusion—local codes may even require it, so check with your municipal building authority.

No, you don’t need to use the same siding around the entire home. Using different siding for different walls can actually increase the soft value of your home. Many homeowners opt to add vinyl siding on the sides of their home not facing the street, opting for higher-end siding materials like stone or wood for the front of the house. Stone veneer siding can be a cost-effective option for homeowners who like the appearance of stone, but not the cost.
