"I wanted to receive quotes for a siding project from several companies and debella debt out Blake & Brady for the initial quote. They were very friendly and professional and unlike other companies respected the fact I wanted to do this in February. They were very supportive and didn't try to pressure a same day sale. The actually spent over 5 hours at my home going over all the details and answering my questions. The found the right serv6fir me within my budget so I signed up now for them to start in February. They are one of only 2 actual certified james hardie color plus installers in idaho in I feel confident they will do a fantastic job."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"I received Ron's contact information from Home Advisor and all communications were by phone or email. I never met Ron until he delivered the completed work at my home. I sent him a few photos of a vanity I had seen online and gave him the dimensions specific to the project. We discussed details regarding the construction and the type of wood to be used-- quarter sawn oak. The communication throughout the building process was superb, he sent photos of the possible finishes for me to select from, and our discussions were friendly and confidence inspiring. The finished custom, solid wood vanity he delivered is exactly what I had hoped for and made of incredible quality. It is a terrific unique piece of furniture, exceptionally well made. He charged me exactly what we had agreed upon at the onset of the project. I absolutely will call on Ron again if I need another quality piece of furniture for my home, and I definitely recommend that others call him too."

"Jordan is such a blessing. As a disabled woman I hired him to repair my toilet and he got the job done on schedule for a very reasonable price. I've since hired him for misc projects and he tends to my lawn on a weekly basis. Very reasonable rates from a reliable, hardworking and trustworthy young man."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can mix siding types to create a unique design. However, it requires thoughtful planning to execute properly. The installation process will also be more time-consuming than if you were to choose either vertical or horizontal for the entire home, so it will cost you more in labor and design costs.

If you have stucco on the outside of your home, it’s technically considered cladding and not siding, but beyond that, it’s impossible to tell without a little digging. Without damaging the siding material, expose part of it to see if there’s an air gap between the siding and your exterior wall. If there is, you have cladding. If the siding is affixed directly to the exterior wall, you have a simple siding system.

Generally speaking, the thicker the siding, the higher the quality. Thicker siding provides a stronger resistance against extreme weather conditions. Thicker siding also tends to fade more slowly under the sun. Hardie boards, a popular fiber cement siding option, is usually 5/16 inches thick. Meanwhile, masonry-finished cement siding varies from 5/8 to 5/8 inches thick.

Although horizontal siding is found on more homes and deemed more popular, vertical siding is gaining popularity and becoming more trendy. Its ability to make homes appear taller and modern design is making it a favorite among homeowners. Plus, the vast style options available make it suitable for various architecture types.

You should consider a siding replacement material that meets your expectations for budget, durability, and if you want to complete the siding project yourself. Some materials are better than others in certain climates and easier to install for beginners. If you’re unsure which material suits your home, check with a local contractor for guidance.
