"AMAZING job! I have painted my home for years, but last year (at age 70) I decided to try to find someone who could at least do as good of a job as I have done. Cliff and Luis did a fantastic job. So, this year, I asked them to paint the living room, dining room, kitchen, guest bedroom and hallway. Luis did the entire job. His attention to detail (caulking, lines, windows, doors) was amazing. Luis is VERY professional...easy to talk to, respectful, quiet, and his work is impeccable. I TOTALLY recommend Cliff and Luis!"

"Jason seems to be a middle man, not a painter.  The crew that came to do the work he had hired, not a crew under his company name.  They had their own company, but were taking on extra work.  I had to reexplain everything to them as if Jason never spoke with them about it.  The color was discussed a few more times even though it was explained each time.  It took a few extra weeks till the work was done compared to the estimated time given.  Many excuses of why they(the painters) were behind and how much it was costing(Jason).  Was pressured by Jason into paying, yet the job wasn't completed.  I find if you pay before its done, then it will take a long time to get the small project done.  The work was spray, no brush.  Had to peel off some left behind tape and plastic and clean up some work debris of that etc.  You get what you pay for, don't let fancy photo's and brochures make your decision. There was no prep work other than taping windows, drips and over spray on deck and windows.  Pretty much average work if you don't care about quality.

"Rocky did a pretty good job of removing the wallpaper from 3 bathrooms. However, he did leave some paper and glue on the walls so I had to go back and scrape this away as I had a painter coming to finish the walls. He also didn't cover up the mirrors, lighting fixtures or floors, so it took me a very long time to clean this sticky mess up. The light bar fixtures may have to be replaced because the liquid used to remove the paper left etching marks and cannot be removed."

"I had mixed results working with Nicholas. On the one hand, Nicholas was generally professional and transparent with his work and pricing. We appreciated that he was able to fit us into his schedule given our tight timeline. He communicated pretty dependably, until the project was finished but then never got a hold of us for touch up despite saying he would. On the other hand, there were numerous areas that were an oversight or in need of obvious touchups. For instance, the team did not always sand down spackle so there are some areas of the wall that are raised or there were areas that obviously needed a second coat. And in the kitchen, they did not paint around the recessed lighting or above the floating cabinets so there is an obvious one-foot gap of color between the ceiling and the wall. In terms of timing, the project took 2 days longer than originally estimated. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone considering this company."

"They say the most important part of a paint job is the prep work. Ireland's Finest did very poor prep work. Caulking was slopped on as if a panacea to performing the work well and painted over before it cured. Dirt was painted over everywhere (see pictures). The sales person told me that rotting woodwork would be repaired with Albatron wood restoration products (one of the reasons I selected I.F.), and i came home to find caulk smeared on instead to build up rotten wood. I was told that glazing putty would be used to repair failed glazing putty and came home to find caulk being used for glazing putty. In each case I had to repeatedly ask that the workers do the prep work correctly only to find corners were being cut to expedite the work. I requested the hardware be removed and was told, "we always remove the hardware" only to come home to find hardware painted over. I ended up having to remove the hardware. When I reinstalled the screens they would no longer fit due to the volume of caulk slopped into corners of the window frames. Yes, I had to reinstall the screens, I guess because I removed the hardware, so I would have to reinstall it. This was after having to repair several stretched and cut screens due to the lack of care they took handling them. When they did fit, the screens adhered to the paint and underlying uncured caulk and became fixed in place damaging wood screen frames. I was told the old wood window sashes would not be painted shut. Windows now are painted shut and after much work on my part to break them loose, the will not operate correctly due to the paint and caulk slopped into the window tracks. I had been promised that care would be taken to do the prep work properly, a specific point of my discussions with their preconstruction sales person. They were by far not the least expensive bid I received. I was ok to pay the extra expecting a quality job. I will say that they did a good job masking and painting well over the dirt. I have included a few representative photos. All in all a very disappointing experience."

"Regan Renovation was recommended on line. I met Mickey and we agreed on a price and what work I needed done, including some wood repairs. Mickey did a fantastic job of painting the exterior of my house. Mickey painted the front of my house and did not feel the color was correct so he took the time to go back and have the paint remixed and to repaint it. He is determined to do it right. It just went on the market and the buyers who are putting bids in on the house appreciate the quality and attention to detail that was taken. Two neighbors are interested in talking to Mickey because they appreciate the quality of his work. I will try to post some pictures from the listing. If you want to see the quality of his work Mickey can give you my address to see it."

"The crew knocked it out and did a great job. We had a huge area to drywall and they got it done in two days. Another plus wasnthe company was really good at communicating and which makes a difference. Price was cheaper than I expected. Great job!"

"Not good. Mistakes were made. He was over priced for the work. He did not come back to fix errors. He had a big job that he wanted to get to so I think my job suffered as a result. I just paid him to be rid of him. Nice guys though."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

Because poison ivy and similar plants can cause potentially life-threatening allergic reactions depending on your sensitivity, it's best to hire a professional to remove it. Hiring a local lawn care service or other professional also increases your chances of successful eradication so that you don't have to deal with the issue again several months down the road.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

The average cost to remove wallpaper is $790. The final price tag depends on the size of the room and the complexity of the project, and can range from $200 to $2,000. Usually, removing peel-and-stick wallpaper is on the lower end of the cost scale, as it doesn't require special tools to remove.

Removing a wallpaper border requires the same process to remove full walls of wallpaper. Clear the area, spray down the surface with your hot water and vinegar solution or store-bought spray, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then scrape it off with a putty knife. Sometimes, border wallpaper lifts easier than larger sheets, so you can just peel it right off the wall by hand.
