Customers say: True professional

"Donnie has removed several trees for us and he ALWAYS does professional work! He is on time, his pricing is affordable, and he leaves the job site very clean. It is hard to find people like Donnie who care and take pride in their work--he does what he says he will do for the quoted price and he is safe, professional and efficient. HIGHLY recommended!"

"Pedro Lucas did an excellent job removing 11 large trees from our property. He was on time when he came to estimate the job. His quote was reasonable. He performed the work and the cleanup, as we agreed, in a most timely manner. I do not hesitate to highly recommend him for any tree service work you may have."

Customers say: Quality work

"When taking down 4 large pine trees they took extra care not to damage adjacent building (home) and other surrounding trees. They finished up in one day to include chipping all the slash and ground clean up."

Small jobs welcome

"John is an incredibly knowledgeable arborist who clearly understands trees and the issues they face here in Colorado. We had two pines that he ended up removing and replacing with Junipers. He gave us options to treat or replace. John took the time to walk through both options plus provided several tree replacement options to chose from. Highly recommend his expertise and honest approach."

"Very hot day 95 degrees plus, but they stayed until 6:30 p.m. to finish the job. All of the cuttings were cleaned up, and picked up the next morning with a clam bucket truck. The remnants of the trees made a pile 40 feet long, 6 feet tall, and 14 feet wide. Will use again in the future. They weren't the cheapest bid I received, but the best."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

Since summer is a busy time for tree companies, the cheapest time of year to remove a tree is during the winter. February and March are typically the prime time to hire a tree removal pro, and some homeowners living in colder climates can save around 20% off services. It depends on location and the company, but you can always shop around for the best deal.

Tree pruning is a common and helpful tree maintenance technique that involves carefully cutting and trimming unwanted branches so that the tree can continue to grow and thrive. Pruning is done carefully and intentionally. Tree topping is a frowned-upon method that involves removing and cutting most or the entirety of the top of the tree, including structurally important branches.

If you ever want to see the literal fruits of your labor, you’ll need to prune your peach trees. Without pruning, the trees may not grow or bear fruit since the nutrients will be divided among too many offshoots to provide any with enough energy to produce the peaches. Plus, if parts of the peach tree become diseased or pest-ridden, pruning can nip those problems in the bud.

Generally, you’ll want to avoid pruning more than 25% of the tree’s canopy at one time. While pruning your tree is important, it’s possible to do it too often or to go too far. Again, this is why hiring a tree trimming pro to do the work is wise. However, if you do decide to DIY, going slow and trimming gradually is the name of the game.
