"Excellent service. Prompt evaluation. Reasonable price. On time for the job. They cleaned everything up. Also, communicated everything they were doing and why. We had a large tree that had several years of neglect, it now looks beautiful. They also removed a row bushes that my wife hated. Thank you Daniel and team!"

"They are professional, friendly, and they listen carefully. The team that came to the house worked very well together and they cleaned-up very well at the end of the project. We would not hesitate to hire them again for a future project."

Customers say: Quick response

"I will echo what the other reviewers have written. Very competent, hardworking crew. Completely removed 2 trees - 1 huge leaning pine - and left fences, irrigation, and other landscaping untouched. Ground up the stump in the lawn. Shaped and trimmed three other trees away from contact with powerlines. Amazing to watch the climbers work! Immaculate clean-up afterward. We would hire them again without hesitation!"

"Quick response to our quote and took down an 80 foot tree in just a couple of hours. Were really professional. Also went above and beyond by taking some tree limbs that I had already cut down with them. Based on my experience, I would recommend them to all!"

Trees of Colorado has been here in Denver for 25 years. We have studied trees with the International Society of Arboriculture for 9 years. We love trees and evaluating their structure and nutrient deficiency. We have been successful at satisfying our customers by listening, looking for problems and performing the work to the customer's satisfaction. We have a bucket truck, climbers and chipper that will also help with trimming trees with no trouble. \n\nP.S. We do a great cleanup job. "Prompt response and able to do the project the same day and cleaned up everything including old branches at the end of the project. Might have taken a bit more off the branches than I’d like, but I’m no arborist and they certainly removed all the dead/non-leaf branches at a great price."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It takes anywhere from three to seven years for a stump to decompose on its own. This timeframe can depend on the kind of tree and your climate. The lower to the ground the stump is, the faster it rots. If you kill a tree stump with salt, boiling water, herbicide, light deprivation, or burning, the tree stump decomposes faster.

You can shape a cherry tree by trimming vertical branches, dense branches, and intersecting branches. Your personal aesthetic comes into play, as well. If you want to simply thin and shape the tree, you can get away with trimming the aforementioned parts of your cherry tree. If you want to shorten branches, however, consider thinning cuts, which alter the length of the branches while encouraging light penetration, new buds and shoots, and a structurally-sound shape.

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.

If a tree isn’t pruned, it can inhibit proper growth and fruit production, cause damage to both the tree and your property, and create entry points for pests and diseases. Pruning a tree enhances its stability, appearance, shape, and growth. Pruning trees regularly can also save you money long-term by avoiding overgrown or dangerous dying trees.

It is good to spray water on a Christmas tree to help keep the needles hydrated. Spraying a Christmas tree with water prevents dryness, stops needles from falling off, and reduces the risk of fire.
