The good: the work was done thoroughly and professionally on October 31. Two other big name tree care agencies in Denver refused to even bid this work due to the challenges of working with excel around the power lines. I appreciate that DLC was able to do this work at all, which is why I'm rating them fair. The bad: Bid accepted 6/14 after revision. I was told work would be done in 6-8 weeks due to need to schedule electric line drop with excel 8/24 had heard nothing re: scheduling, communicated with DLC and no one had started the process with Excel. Work and line drop finally scheduled in late September after many more calls to DLC. On the day of work, trimmers arrived and said that project had been mis-bid, did not need line drop, but could not be done until excel trimmed branches around transformer / large electrical line in the alley. However, before this determination was made, I had to make emergency calls and faxes to excel authorizing line drop, which DLC had not planned for. This is challenging for me to do from work. After verbally harassing excel, the alley trimming work was done in mid October and project re-bid without line drop. (Yes, I contacted excel in May, no, they apparently did not follow up) Finally, 10/31 - more than 4 months later - work was completed. This was a very stressful process for me, worrying that branches would come down and take out power supply to my home while waiting for work to be done. However, as noted at the beginning, no one else would bid this work. So I am glad DLC was willing to do this work just wish the process and communication had been smoother. 2 gentlemen who did the work were through, efficient, professional.
