Donovan Arborists is an owner/operator business. I am a Certified Arborist and licensed with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. As the customer, you deal with the owner through the whole process. I like to meet with first time customers to discuss your needs and then help you develop a plan.

The staff at Donovan Arborist's was great. Paul set up an in person meeting with me and discussed options for the work we needed to get done. The price was competitive with other contractors. His staff showed up on time, were very kind and friendly and completed the work as agreed upon. They did a great job cleaning up. Would definitely use again for future projects.

Paul's team was great. They stayed in touch with me to coordinate the best day for the tree work and then arrived promptly to do the work. The trees look great and the yard was cleaned up well after they finished the work. Still happy with the work 9 months later.

Got a quick response for an estimate and got the work scheduled within a couple of weeks (which was great considering how busy the spring is for tree work). The only issue we had was with the arrival time of the guys doing the work...I had been told they would arrive in the morning and had to call and find out where they were. They ended up going to another job before ours and came in the afternoon instead. Not a huge deal, since I was home all day, but it would have been an issue if I'd taken just half a day off work and expected them in the morning. When I called the scheduler I talked to was very apologetic. The trees we were having cut down came down quickly and they even removed some dead branches we had on the side of the house. The tree trimming and deep root fertilization has left us with a very happy looking tree. Overall we were very happy with Donovan Arborists and would use them again.

The service is excellent. They are very through, they're very reasonably priced. I've always been able to schedule and don't have to wait months, and when I have an emergency they came quickly and very dependable.

Great experience. Paul did estimate back in the fall. Provided insurance cert upon request. We waited a while to do the work but he still honored the estimate in Feb. Work was done by 4 gentlemen--all of whom were very professional. One used cherry-picker; others climbed or worked from ground level. Work took all day on day 1 [they worked until it snowed] and needed to finish up on day 2. Cleaned up after themselves. Trees look great. Will have Donovan back in spring to do some treatments on a few trees.

Took about 1.5 months to schedule appointment for service after estimate given. Appointment made for 9AM on day of service. At 845AM on day of scheduled service I got call from the office that crew was not done with job they had started day before and it would be 11AM when they would show up. I tried calling their phone # and got voice mail and later office person called back stating crew was still busy. Team did not show up until 1PM! I wasted a whole morning waiting for crew. Crew seemed to have done good job but will not know until spring. Owner, Paul Donovan had no legitimate excuse for this inconsiderate and irresponsible scheduling and lack of communication. He said he did not take advantage of me just because I was a woman. Anyone else out there that has used this companies service have the same inconsiderate response?

Sometimes we get caught behind either because I miss judge how long a job will take to complete or an employee calls out sick. We try our best to treat everyone with respect and to do a good job. Again, I apologize. When the crew finally showed up to your house to perform the work. You answered the door screaming at them and filmed it with your phone. You accused us of being late because you are a woman. I am sorry, but that is the craziest thing I have ever heard of. Do you think we were just hanging out in the truck being late on purpose? I treat everyone with respect regardless of color, gender or sexual orientation. I grew up in a diverse family. I think you have miss judged me based on my appearance. Again, I am sorry that we were late and that your experience with my company was not great. But you are accusing me of treating you differently because you are a woman. We were late that day because the job from the day before took longer than I expected. Period. [Member Name Removed]"

Donovan was an excellent company and given that I was expecting this to be a complete pain - it was the opposite and everything went very smoothly. Mike responded very promptly to emails and phone calls. They even moved the date up by a week because I asked since we were going to be moved out of state by the time they were scheduled to arrive (we scheduled the work before we closed on the new house). Everything went as planned - they showed up a little late due to weather (legit) but notified me early that day and they arrived when they said they would. They carry liability insurance which was important to us given the nature of the work. The yard looks better than ever! I will use Donovan again without hesitation since we are keeping our home as a rental.

Two men showed up close to the prearranged time. They did the job in the tight space in less than two hours and cleaned up afterwards. The job had been arranged long in advance since they seem to have a busy schedule. Denver Metro weather has been **** ** trees this year of 2017.

Despite the time it took to get a quote and schedule the work (8 weeks in total), it went flawlessly. This was NOT an easy job. I had obtained 5 quotes from different companeis and 3 of those required cranes costing over $10k! But Donovan did it all without the expensive equipment. Sooo much better!

Great! He came out gave us a quota followed up to make sure we were doing ok and where our thoughts were came out and did the work. Ran into an issue once at the top of the tree but worked through it until the job was done

They did a great job. They were awesome, very good. The price was reasonable. Their quality was very good. They cleaned up their mess. Their responsiveness was very good, the original date was rained out, but they made it up on Good Friday, which surprised me. They came right on time and were done by the afternoon. They didn't curse or drink, or pee on our property. Their personality was normal, they did what they were supposed to do. Yes, I would use them again.

He was incredibly helpful leading up to and including the consultation. As a renter I was really worried about losing the tree, but he gave us the peace of mind we needed and a couple of pointers on keeping it healthy as it heals. He also gave us some tips on a couple of other mature trees on our lot that he noticed needed some love. The consultation was free (which seemed unfair to him!) but we'll absolutely call again if we need any other arboreal services.
