We had a great relationship with Arbortec until the latest proposal. After spending over $16,000 on their services, the owner, Dennis J. Shea, abruptly stopped service when I asked him to verify the size of the arborvitae he planted. We paid $2,960 for 6 ft. arborvitae, but he planted 5 ft. ones. He refunded only $800 for the “perceived” differences and voided the warranties. Despite multiple requests, he refused to provide the invoice from the tree farm. If he were an honest person, he would have. Be cautious with this company; their professionalism is lacking. Consider a more ethical company instead.

Had a great relationship with Arbortec up until our latest proposal. After paying them over $16000 in services over the past few years, the owner Dennis J. Shea decided to stop service simply because I asked him to validate that the arborvitae he planted were the size I paid for. I paid $2960 for 6 ft. Arborvitae and he purchased and planted 5 ft. Arborvitae. Owner got frustrated and partially refunded me $800 for the “perceived” differences and then later stated the refund was for the warranties, which he voided on my plantings. He refused to provide the invoice from the Tree Farm. Be careful when dealing with this company, especially for planting — it’s likely they may try to scam you. Very unprofessional behavior from the owner. Avoid and go with a more ethical company instead.

Arbortec is a professional, reliable company. They return calls and show up on time. I have a beautiful 20 year old ash tree that is susceptible to the emerald ash borer. The owner, Dennis Shea, is knowledgeable and I trust his recommendations regarding keeping my tree healthy. $115.00 for tree trunk injection to prevent emerald ash borer infestation, $85.00 for fertilizing the tree & $600.00 for trimming.

The tree was trimmed and the team was courteous and did a good job cleaning up after the work. I was not available to do a full review of their work that day. Later I noticed a significant amount of deadwood still in the tree. I called the office twice and asked if someone could come back and take a look at the tree and tell me if that was normal. I did not consider it unreasonable request but never heard back. Since it is not worth the effort to chase them, I  will trim the rest myself.

A salesperson was out to my house within 48 hours to give me the estimate, The estimate was for the removal of three (3) shrubs, one (1) small dead tree, and 5 trees that needed dead branches removed and trimming. The salesperson was friendly and knowledgeable. Arbortec called within three (3) days to schedule a crew to come the next week to do the job. The crew arrived on time and they were friendly and professional. The work was preformed to my satisfaction. The yard was cleared of all debris. The crew was very efficient and the work was done in three (3) hours. I will be using Arbortec next year for spring maintenance.

When they came out to do the estimate, they showed up on time and answered all of my questions. The two-man crew showed up on time and after a quick discussion with me, began work immediately. These guys were very professional. I did not ask for them to dig out the stumps, but they cut the trunks quite low enough that I can cover them with stones. I pointed out the small flowers and things beneath the Maple that was to be pruned and they didn't knock over a single columbine. When they finished they had cleaned up after themselves completely, and the work was all done within the estimated time slot. I'd hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

Dennis (owner) and his crew arrived right on time and did all this work in one day and without any incidents or damage to fences, roofs, etc.. He followed up a few days later with maple tree fertilization.  Great professional job at a reasonable price.
Dennis was also punctual with the job estimate two weeks before and took the time to answer questions and help me develop specifications.  The quoted price is exactly what was invoiced.
I invited three other arborists to give me quotes before making my decision.
I highly recommend this tree service.

I asked 4 contractors for bids and to include a crane to lift & remove tree sections from that narrow space and over the garage to the alleyway to be cut up. Two said it wasn't necessary & bid w/o crane. I've seen two other tall trees removed & sections dropped to the ground and with the narrow space to work in & my sprinkler system,  that method wasn't comfortable. In addition the Locust wood is one of the heaviest, densest there is. I threw their bids away which were $300-400 lower which is understandable w/o a crane.

Also, Dennis, the owner of Arbortec who made the bid, explained how all would be done which gave me the confidence to hire him.
Dennis & the Arbortec crew arrived on time( the crane was 15-20 min late--no big deal), introduced themselves, explained the operation, answered all my questions in a friendly manner while waiting for the crane and then did what they said they'd do!
Excellent cleanup.
I'd hire them again and for trimming also, period!

I am very impressed with this company.  As far as cost, I really don't know where they fall, although I did get a couple of estimates from other companies.  I just know that I have no doubt that I would call them again for future work.
