"Everything went well.  They use drop cloth on floor and kept everything spotless.  It is like taking your car for a service and they find some hidden problems that you are not aware of, but it ends up costing more money than the original estimate.  However, it gave me a peace of mind that I know my fireplace and chimney are safe to use.

"Gary was  prompt and professional for each appointment.  On the initial appointment, he patiently answered all my questions, provided a good selection of products to choose from, and gave a quote for services.  The day of service, Gary prepped & painted the inside of the fireplace as well as all hardware on the doors.  For the finishing touches, he installed a new burner and fire glass.  When he left the area was clean and ready to be enjoyed.  My boring, outdated gas fireplace is now updated, and looks great!!!  I'd hire Gary again.

"Great work, reasonably priced and professional! We had them fix a rusted cap and pan on top of chimney that we learned about after seeing black soot line on our siding. It did take a week for the materials to come in but that's not their fault and they did set expectations with us about the delay. They were quick and efficient. I highly recommend their work."

"Kelly Rowe completed inspection of the chimney and fireplace. Kelly’s inspection revealed that the chimney is clean and no additional work needs to be done. Kelly is very safety conscious and thorough and pointed out that the way the logs are stacked is dangerous and unsafe because it can produce carbon monoxide when fireplace is turned on. He further rearranged the logs to make the fireplace safe. Kelly also gave advice on keeping the damper open and other safety related tips. Kelly is very punctual, ethical, knowledgeable, and professional. He also responded thoroughly to my follow up questions. "not that great. basically paid $99 to get an estimate. included cleaning roof and minimal repairs. took a while to get appointment, and then when they came, they didn't even do the work! gave a really big estimate and then re-seheduled to have someone else do the work. they wouldn't totally replace the roof, gave different estimates to repair, I went with a different company to do a full roof rplacement."

The price seemed fair and once I had signed the contract they scheduled the repair for the end of the week. The work was done well, and the employees were very professional. "We hired Fireplace Freddie to inspect and fix our 100-year-old fireplace & chimney, making it safe to burn real wood again. Nick and Scott came out quickly, and used cameras to inspect. During the inspection Nick visually showed me what the issues were. He also verbally suggested the fix. After the inspection, we received pics and a price quote to fix the issues by installing a stainless steel sleeve in the chimney. We sent the pics and info to 3 other businesses to compare prices. After speaking with Nick numerous times, including 2 conversations with my old school contractor buddy who asked Nick just about every ridiculous question he could possibly think of, Nick remained cool and answered all of his questions. Nick also agreed to do the job with a permit from LADBS which they included in the price, so we decided Fireplace Freddie was the right company to do the job. Patrick was our installer. He had a co-worker, but I didn't catch his name. They showed up on time, covered the floor and furniture and did their job. It took a few days as they said it would, but they were on time, clean and friendly. Each day they came, they covered everything. Each night, they cleaned up and uncovered everything before they left. Patrick also dealt with our LADBS inspector who admittedly was not well versed in chimney repair. Patrick was very friendly, gave the inspector the information he needed including printed specs from the manufacturer, and we passed inspection w/o issue. Scott came back 1 week later to test the fireplace. He lit a fire to make sure it was all good, and it is. To sum it all up, everyone was friendly and professional. The job went super smooth, and we are able to use our wood burning fireplace again, safely.  I would highly recommend Fireplace Freddie. A+"

"After calling companies close to our mountain location we contacted Hugo at A-1 and he offered to come a much longer distance at a lower price. He overcame some obstacles the way our fireplace was built to get the chimney clean and also replaced the worn out chimney cap. He was on time and very careful to control the soot coming into the home. We recommend this company as professional and fairly priced. And working with Hugo was an especially pleasant experience.

"While they were up there cleaning the gutters they told me about the deterioration of all the sealants on the air vents, the chimney and exhaust fans on the roof. They took pictures and showed me and I had them redo all the sealants. I have a feeling that that was a smart way for them to get some more work (most people aren't aware of the damage the Ca sun can do). It was the owner of the company and his son that did all the work and they were clean, pleasant and professional. When the 1st rains came after the work was done I suddenly remembered a small leak we had had in our bathroom and IT WAS NO LONGER THERE!! I was very happy with the work they did and would definitely recommend using them."
