"Temo came over the day after my phone call to look at the work and materials required and gave me an estimate. We scheduled a date the following week as requested. The work was done promptly and he hauled away the damaged fencing from our property. I would definitely call 1 Call Handyman again if I needed any work done at my home."

"They were very prompt, fast, and kept a tidy work site. They worked very well with my family. My young daughter was very excited that "the wolf" was fixing our house instead of blowing it down. I was able to coordinate activities through phone and email and invoices were prompt and clear."

"The old gate sagged and drove me crazy scraping on the walkway. It was flimsy and looked really bad. Roger built a new, sturdy gate of good quality redwood. He put attractive hardware on it to enhance its appearance. The new gate is very securely fastened to studs and opens and closes just great. Roger had done fence work for me in the past and did a great job a always. He also makes sure you are pleased with the work and is very punctual. Great job.

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Combining fencing work with upgrades such as landscaping, irrigation, or exterior painting in Truckee is a practical way to streamline projects and reduce disruptions. Scheduling multiple improvements during the May-October construction season helps avoid weather-related delays. Coordinating with neighbors for bulk material orders or shared contractor schedules can further improve efficiency and lead to smoother project management for your property.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Truckee often make fencing work mistakes like setting posts too shallow, which leads to frost heave, or using untreated materials that deteriorate quickly in snow and moisture. Overlooking wildlife movement can result in ineffective barriers. Failing to confirm property boundaries, check with planning departments or HOAs, and not calling before digging for utility lines can cause costly project delays and safety hazards.

Helpful?

Delaying fencing work in Truckee exposes your property to increased wildlife intrusion, including bears and deer causing damage or attracting pests. Unprotected areas are more vulnerable to snow and wind damage, and project delays can push installation into winter, complicating construction. Postponement may also impact property value and lead to neighbor or HOA concerns about wildlife attractants and property boundaries.

Helpful?

Quality fencing work in Truckee is evident when fence posts are set at least 3 feet deep to withstand the region’s 36-48 inch frost line and heavy snow loads. Look for galvanized or stainless steel hardware to prevent corrosion. Proper fencing should comply with local setback rules, maintain wildlife deterrent heights, and have no gaps larger than 4 inches at the bottom for safety and code adherence.

Helpful?

Fencing work in Truckee primarily addresses wildlife management, keeping bears, deer, and smaller animals away from gardens and trash. It also marks property boundaries under deep snow, shields outdoor areas from harsh winds, and increases privacy. For many residents, fencing adds security for vacation homes and helps protect outdoor equipment from both wildlife intrusion and the area’s challenging mountain weather.
