Tom was a great contractor. He was punctual, well prepared, and knowledgeable about the job progress the entire way. Additionally, he was open to any modifications to the job I came up with. Overall, Tom was easy to work with and the job came out better than we anticipated.

Great!! I found Tom Gurzi on the Nextdoor site & decided to call him foe a bathroom complete redo. I found him to understand what I wanted to accomplish & feel his prices were reasonable. The job was a complete gut & update with new tile & vanity & fixtures. With Tom’s help & guidance the finished product was exactly what I had envisioned. Tom did most of the work himself and showed his patience & skill in making my new bathroom a show piece. I would highly recommend him.

We have had a great rapport over the years. They know the quirks of my old home and how to fix just about anything that has been done to it (or not done to it) over the past 125 years of its existence. We have worked under a time/material agreement for smaller jobs and contracts for the larger jobs. Communication is great, they are there rain or shine and stay on the job until its done. My list has been long on getting this 'ole place fixed up and they have made it happen. I've got more to do and can't think of anyone else I would call. Thanks for the help guys!!

If you want a contractor that is fair and reliable, hire these guys. They will do the job right. They will also let you know if they can't do something too. I had a lot of tile to remove and install and they said the job was too big so I went to a tile only guy.

Tom and Steve are fantastic to work with. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. When I first met with Tom to start discussing plans I had several ideas and he was very honest about how far my budget would go and what I could actually do to maximize space. During demo they were always very prompt and kept the work site clean. They replaced all of my old plumbing, and because I discussed what I wanted to do with the kitchen they ran plumbing to where I want to move my fridge in the future. They also discovered many issues with the existing wiring, which they replaced and also explained very clearly what the issues meant and how they were going to fix it. I had a steam shower installed and used tile to do a wainscoting in both bathrooms. They did a wonderful job tiling, especially since it is an older home and they were single lay 3x5 tiles. Also the bull nose tiles I purchased wouldn't work and they came up with a solution on the fly that I absolutely love. They were also very good about responding promptly to questions. I would absolutely recommend you work with these guys they did a fantastic job and I will definitely work with them again.

They were very prompt, fast, and kept a tidy work site. They worked very well with my family. My young daughter was very excited that "the wolf" was fixing our house instead of blowing it down. I was able to coordinate activities through phone and email and invoices were prompt and clear.

Tom and Steve did an excellent job on our master bath remodel.  They were always on task.  Stayed with the job.  Showed up at the same time every day.  They made great efforts to keep our carpeted stairs clean as they went up and down.  They did a good job protecting our hardwood floors as well.  Their work was great.  Everything looks great.  The tile work is excellent.  The finish work is excellent.  They stayed on contract.  Because their bid was so close to the actual work to be performed, there was very little overage as far as cost went.  I felt secure with them in the house.  There have been a couple VERY SMALL things that have come up since they completed the job which is totally to be expected.  They came promptly to remedy the situation at no extra charge.  I would and have recommended them to other friends.

Tom and Steve are very professional and do most of the work themselves. Part of what attracted us to them is that between the two of them they are certified in plumbing and electrical. They also do excellent tile work. This was a very complex job that involved demolition of the existing space, drafting plans and obtaining permits, re-engineering the structure below a stairway, reframing and finishing the area, running new sewage drains for a bathroom in an area that had previously been a closet, running new drain pipes from an upstairs bathroom, installing a window, moving a hot water heater, flooring including both tile and hardwood, creating a tile shower, and probably even more than I can think of or remember.
I truly can't say enough about Tom and Steve. Through all the demolition work, they did a very good job of keeping the rest of the house as clean as possible by creating plastic sheet barriers even through the work was all happening in a previously windowless area of our house. They thoroughly explained what they were doing and let us know the challenges that might arise. They were always on time, did what they said they would do, and I find them both to be good trustworthy individuals. They also do excellent expert-craftsman level work. I will be hiring them again this fall to do some other less substantial work and would hire them again.

some lumber expense.
Very professional and courteous. They were able to and quot;recycleand quot; some of the wood, saving some lumber costs. They were both on the job every day for three days, taking care to cover the kitchen/great room floor, since they had to go through the house to get to the deck when bringing in the lumber. They noticed a need for some additional support bracing while working, and were able to handle that as well. They cleaned up every day and after the job was done. They even left a broom behind, though I don't think they meant to. (You can come and get it anytime, guys!)

Great! Both Steve and Tom were professional and knowledgeable. The pointed out work that had been improperly done on the exterior of the wall, and gave us the (no pressure!) option to have it remedied. Steve thoroughly cleaned up the job site each afternoon and took great pride in his work. We were very happy with the outcome of the project and the experience was an overall and quot;10and quot;. We definitely will use them again, and appreciated that they are open to smaller jobs like ours, and not only major projects.

Gurzi and Dewolf were very, very easy to work with. At every step of the process, the two builders coordinated closely with my wife and I, keeping us informed of any issues or key decision points. Rather than just blindly doing the work, they pointed out potential issues before the problem surfaced, allowing us all to coordinate workarounds and solutions so that our schedule wasn't impacted.
My impressions of the builders began when the first arrived for a quote. They asked the right kind of questions, were organized, were thoroughly engaged, had a sense of humor and took ample measurements to provide an accurate quote. Incidentally, the estimate they provide for time and money was spot on. They hit their estimated schedule; any delays were caused by mutually agreed upon scope increases. My first impression was reinforced throughout the job.
Throughout the job I was impressed by their attention to detail and their work ethic. Both builders strived to do the best they could do and minimized the need for rework. During the rare instance when rework was necessary, they approached it constructively and worked with us to ensure that we were happy.
The bathroom looks great! We love it and feel like it is our own private spa.
I would definitely hire them again when we build our new house or for any other additions or changes at our existing home.

Although I'm outside their area at North Lake Tahoe, I opted to have them do my remodel because of their reputation. They agreed to put a lot of miles on to do the work and I am very happy they did. The work was of excellent quality and they had no issues dealing with the unique code and BMP requirements of the TRPA and Placer County for the Tahoe area. All the requirements were met for each of the inspections along the way. One of the requirements is to complete any construction that impacts the ground surface before October 15th so they had a deadline to get most of the work done. I also wanted to get the roof on before it started to snow. Because my house was originally built in the 1960s, the existing structure was not up to current code for snow loads. They retrofitted the common wall and did all the electrical work for lighting, power, and the automatic garage door. There were a few of the usual unforeseen extra materials cost but all in all they kept costs in check. The tree stumps were particularly stubborn to remove but they worked late and on into the weekend to help minimize the equipment rental period. They also did some additional reinforcement that went beyond what was in the plans. The garage extended out to the setback from the property line and because of the slope of the roof I wasn't sure if I could utilize the larger space for two vehicles or not. I was very happy that I had plenty of room for both my ski boat and a car. The exterior blended in perfectly with the rest of the house once it was painted. Tom and Steve are a great team and work very efficiently together.

I went away on vacation and came back to a completley destroyed home. I had a water line break and it took out the whole place. Once all the demo was done, it was time to find the right contractors to do such a large job with quality in mind.
I came across Tom and Steve. The were always up front about the whole process and were dependable when it came to meeting and walking through the job. I saw some pics of there work on their website and had a good idea they did quality work.
Once the job had started, they were always on time and worked throughout the day knocking things out. There were a lot of little things that were not orginally thought of, such as relocating outlets, rewiring some electrical to make it look better, wiring in speaker cable, etc., that were brought up during the whole process. I was able to change things I didnt think of, and whenever there were questions, they never hesitated to ask.
Tom and Steve both went above and beyond what I had expected. They did such things that were not exactly their responsibility such as going and picking up custom supplies, and providing good tips on types of finishes and patterns for things like tile, flooring, molding, etc.
Once everything was done, the quality was great. They took the time to do everything right, so it really turned out nice. The finishing touches are always the difference in a outstanding job and just a decent job. Tom and Steve delievered.
I would definetly recommend these guys to anyone that asked about finding a good contractor. I still remain in touch with these guys today, and I think they are great people.
Many Thanks goes to Tom and Steve.

The guys were great! They did an excellent job for me. One particular task was hanging a new chandelier. However, I wasn't sure if the one I really wanted to put up was going to work in my space. They patiently held the chandelier up to the ceiling (it was not light) while I tried to make up my mind. I had gotten an alternate for comparison. This was an expensive investment for me and I wanted it to be just right. I settled on my first choice, Tom installed it and it's perfect! I love my new pantry, and all of the other repairs which they did are really excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. They were very nice and did a wonderful job.

It went very well. They came before 9 a.m. and had most of the work done by early afternoon. This is the second time we have used them. The first time they installed new facia boards below a roof and installed a wall oven and microwave and created cabinetry to give the oven/microwave a and quot;built-inand quot;look. We will use them in the future. Not only is their work good, but they are polite and professional.

What they have done so far is great. They are easy to work with and they are honest; actually their original estimate went down about a thousand dollars because the material was cheaper than they had quoted in the first place so we got that credit which is always good to see. The work is not done yet, they still have to do the bathroom. They communicate with us and tell us when they are going to be here and what they are going to do. They are timely and the quality of their work is very good.
