"The plumber installed a Moen shutoff device as required by our insurance company to prevent potential flooding from water line leaks. The work was expertly and professionally done. The office staff was helpful and pleasant to work with and understood what we needed."

"It went quite well. The fellow that came out and did the work was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a reasonable price. They knew what had to be done to get it up to code because it is an older house. The previous water heater didn't have an expansion tank or earthquake straps. It didn't have the pan and things that were needed for code. I was quite pleased. He had to get under the house and drill some holes through the wall to get the overflow out of the house because the area where the water heater was didn't have a drain in the floor. He was the least expensive."

"Tony knows how to tile and I ultimately got the job I was looking for (minus some design details) at a very reasonable price point. I would be careful in hiring Tony. I was just cleaning my garden and found some tiles thrown up into my garden carelessly which kind of sums up my experience with Tony...in a word, disrespectful. There was also some lying about his plumber (guess he didn't realize the camera over his head at my entrance where he worked had sound), and no I wasn't monitoring him but when I suspected him of lying I listened to the audio. He also totally disregarded some clear direction about a design detail that was important to me while I was at work...too late now! So if you hire him, know that he knows his stuff, he's a very nice guy with some ******** thrown in and be very specific and monitor his work very closely if details are important to you. You'll get a good job at a very good price."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Schedule plumbing for your CA home if you notice rust-brown water, which indicates aging galvanized pipes. Unexplained water pressure drops or wet spots on ceilings in the spring point directly to winter freeze damage. Watch for slow drains or yard odors signaling septic issues. Because of hard mountain water, replace your water heater if it makes rumbling sounds or loses hot water capacity after eight to ten years.

Helpful?

Before starting plumbing in Truckee, determine your exact municipal jurisdiction to secure the correct permits early. Confirm whether your property connects to a municipal sewer or a private septic system. Locate your main water shutoff valves and document existing pipe routes. Plan your project for the May through October construction window, and verify that your hired contractor holds the proper active credentials to operate legally in the region.

Helpful?

After finishing plumbing in Truckee, secure a final inspection sign-off to close your permit. For properties on private wells, test your water quality for bacteria and sediment. Verify that all exposed pipes feature proper insulation before the first fall freeze. Update your shut-off procedures if you own a vacation home, and notify your homeowners insurance carrier about any new upgrades, especially if you added fire sprinklers or repiped the system.

Helpful?

You should combine plumbing with other upgrades in CA. When opening walls for a remodel, upgrade pipe insulation and weatherization simultaneously to prevent winter freeze damage. Coordinate radiant floor heating installations or fire sprinkler additions during these projects to maximize efficiency. Bundling your interior repiping with exterior septic upgrades also streamlines the permit process, ensuring your mountain home is fully prepared before the short construction season ends.

Helpful?

In Truckee, you will find several types of professionals handling plumbing. Licensed contractors and journeyman plumbers manage standard installations and repairs. Because of the heavy snowfall and extreme cold, local specialists also focus on hydronic radiant heating, driveway snowmelt systems, and winterization. Additionally, you can hire certified experts for well pumps, septic systems, residential fire suppression, and backflow prevention device testing to keep your home safe.
