"Cut down 2 large Cypress trees to level we requested as well as trimming limbs away from house on a Catawba tree. 1 sprinkler was broken but was repaired. Owner stopped by & said he didn't know the trees were so large, even tho we sent pictures, & should have quoted more. We gave an additional $250 cash to our $600 check. All debris was removed & lawn cleaned up. Very happy with results."

"This company goes way beyond expectations. They trimmed all my trees and brushes around my house to look healthy. They removed 4 sets of bushes. They cleaned up everything. He noticed my sprinklers were not working and replaced the parts ( of course with my permission). All workers were polite and had a great work ethic. I wish I had more work for them. I am sharing their work with my friends to get them more business. They are reasonable in their charges. They are easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend them."

"I am very happy with the work that was done on my trees. They did more than expected and cleaned up debris. I feel the price for the work was reasonable and will definitely have them back when trees need trimming again. Thank you."

Small jobs welcome

"The boss and workers were professional and cleaned up their mess of tree branches. They took the two dead trees out easily without having to climb either one. It took them 45 minutes from start to finish and I paid $800. A good deal for Evergreen."

"No nonsense! Very responsive. Reached out almost immediately after requesting service through Angi's list. Came on site in short order for an estimate despite the rain. Prioritized my service request and scheduled the job within 3 days from quote. On day of service, arrived early and completed the job within a few hours and did a great job cleaning up. Service was reasonably priced, and representative was very professional. Was very satisfied with the job that I decided to hire for recurring maintenance. Thank you, Antonio's Landscaping!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a bird's nest depends on the species. The building process can take from two days to three weeks. Once built, the nesting period for baby birds can last from two to ten weeks before they leave the nest. While most young birds are ready in two to six weeks, some predatory species may need up to two and a half months. Some species nest four to five times per year, so a nest could remain in use for several months. For specific information about a particular nest's longevity, it is best to consult a wildlife professional.

Aside from removing dead or diseased branches, you should prune your trees somewhere between every one and three years. Some people—particularly commercial farmers—prune their apple trees yearly to produce higher yields. This is the best way to promote tree health. That said, the average homeowner can get away with hard-pruning their mature apple tree every other year or every three years.

Costs depend on tree height, trunk diameter, removal complexity, and required equipment.

A chainsaw is the best tool to cut down a tree, but you may also use a handsaw or ax. You may also want to use a lopper or pole saw to remove limbs before cutting down the tree. Wear chainsaw chaps and protective gear, including eyewear and earplugs if you use a chainsaw. Again, if you’re unsure about how to use this tool, this project may be one to skip.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.
