"Garafano Electric has being taking care of all the electrical needs and upgrades in our 90 plus year old house for a few years now. They always do A+ work. We're currently in the middle of some home renovations and they've been willing and able to work with our erratic schedule. Honest, dependable, and great at what they do. Can't recommend them high enough!"

"Joe's Electric returned my care within minutes of me contacting them. I had a technician in my home in 1.5 hrs. Who quickly identified and fixed the problem within 35-45 minutes. They saved me from losing a whole day of work and it was worth the cost vs loss I would have incurred."

"Our project started out on the small end of things as we were about to have our house repainted -- a good time to get some electrical updates completed. We called Steve and he came out the same day to help us address the immediate issues. After talking with him, we started sharing our thoughts for other electrical work and that's when Steve's creativity kicked in. After much discussion, we ended up with a long list of electrical work that met all of our needs perfectly so we decided to get it all done at once. When it came time for the installation work, it exceeded our expectations. The foreman, Shawn, led his team through each of the projects with high professionalism and excellent quality of work. How he was able to do so much electrical work in our ceilings via one little hole he cut (and later patched perfectly) was amazing. Their entire team took great pride in the work at hand and even came back to fix some LED hardware issues (not their fault). Every day the work was done on time, neatly and they respected our home. This is by far the best work we've had done in our home over the years and the pricing was competitive to boot. We'll be calling Steve and his crew for any and all future electrical needs when it arises."

"52-YEAR BUSINESS!!! Jack Vardiman is the TOP electrician to effectively fix/set up your essential electrical systems. Checked Angie's List and selected JVEC Inc. in Brea. Jaclyn provided outstanding customer service and immediately set up an appointment. Jack's knowledge is encyclopedic; his skill is utmost; and his actions are meticulous. He instantly recognized an older GE circuit panel and efficiently replaced the damaged breaker with the appropriate part. Furthermore, the repair fee was very reasonable."

"I had Excellence Electric install a Tesla charger in my garage. The job was difficult and required a replacement upgraded 200 amp circuit breaker with a 60 amp power line pulled through the attic across the house and dropped down into the garage where the Tesla charger port needed to be installed. Raymond at Excellence Electric completed the job on schedule, took care of all of the HOA and city permits, and kept me updated all the way through the process. I can highly recommend Raymond at Excellence Electric with out hesitation for any electrical work needed on your home or office. Kyle Webb Casa Del Sole residence"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Combining electrical work with other upgrades in Santa Ana can save both time and hassle. For example, coordinate electrical panel upgrades with solar installations or add new circuits during a kitchen remodel. Many Santa Ana homes benefit from bundling rewiring with HVAC replacements or adding outdoor lighting when landscaping. This approach often streamlines permitting and can reduce disruptions, making your home improvement process more efficient.

Helpful?

In Santa Ana, address urgent electrical issues—such as panel malfunctions, persistent GFCI trips, flickering lights during AC use, or any burning smells—right away to prevent safety hazards, especially during dry, windy weather. Upgrades like installing EV charging stations or smart lighting can be scheduled later, but always factor in fire season, permit processing times, and any HOA guidelines before planning non-urgent electrical projects.

Helpful?

In Santa Ana, building a seasonal inspection routine helps protect your home year-round. Start each spring by inspecting outdoor electrical systems and testing GFCI outlets after winter rains. Transition into summer by checking for overloaded circuits during peak AC use. In fall, secure outdoor fixtures before wind season arrives. Winter is ideal for testing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Homes with pools or older wiring deserve extra attention each season.

Helpful?

When planning electrical projects in Santa Ana, consider local weather patterns like high heat and Santa Ana winds, which can impact electrical safety. Be aware of city permit requirements and California’s energy efficiency standards. Some neighborhoods have underground utilities or historic district rules that may affect your plans. Upgrading electrical systems can also enhance property value and may help lower insurance premiums in the Santa Ana area.

Helpful?

In Santa Ana, homeowners are embracing smart lighting, automated outdoor systems, and energy-efficient upgrades like LED retrofits and EV charging stations. Outdoor living enhancements—such as pool and landscape lighting or electrical for outdoor kitchens—are especially popular due to the climate. Modern touches like USB outlets, under-cabinet lighting, and minimalist switch plates are trending, along with Spanish-style fixtures that complement Santa Ana’s unique architectural character.
