"I had Excellence Electric install a Tesla charger in my garage. The job was difficult and required a replacement upgraded 200 amp circuit breaker with a 60 amp power line pulled through the attic across the house and dropped down into the garage where the Tesla charger port needed to be installed. The Stab-Lok® breakers are also usually red on the breaker switch.

If you need to visually inspect your Christmas lights to determine which are good and which need replacement, there are a few things to look for. First, look for discoloration, such as a dark spot or two on the inside of the glass. The spot is an indication of a burnt filament. Also, look for missing filaments, cracked bulb glass, and broken sockets.

The NEC requires electrical outlets be installed in a kitchen that has a sink 12 inches wide and 24 inches deep. According to the code, that outlet must be within 2 feet of the kitchen sink. Bathrooms must have at least one electrical outlet, it must be GFCI, and it must be within 3 feet of the bathroom sink.

Switching the hot and neutral wires in an outlet or receptacle, a condition known as reverse polarity, is dangerous. While the outlet will still function and provide power, it creates a significant electrical shock hazard because anything plugged into it will remain electrified even when switched off. If you touch a conductive part of the appliance, such as the metal components of a toaster, you could receive an electric shock.

Using a wire stripper/cutter, strip about 1/2 inch to 1 inch of sheathing from electric wires, depending on the application. A self-adjusting wire stripper/cutter works best, but a standard wire stripper/cutter with holes for different gauges of wire works as well to cut and strip away the sheath without damaging the copper wire inside.
