"My wife and I requested a quote to have some electrical work done so we could install a chandelier in our dining room, Shawn Herman called us right away and came out to do an estimate, he was very friendly and knowledgeable which is the primary reason why we decided to hire them. To install an outlet from existing wiring, you’ll need to choose a location where you can already access existing wiring. The easiest way to do this is to install an outlet on the other side of the wall of an existing outlet. 

Since the wiring is already in place, all you have to do is connect a new cable to the existing wiring and then connect the correct wires through the wall—to the new electrical outlet. Place your new outlet into the opening in the wall and then connect the correct wires to the appropriate terminal screws.

People who have experienced blown fuse have occasionally tried to fix the problem by placing copper pennies in the fuse box. While they are good conductors of electricity and can seemingly “fix” the issue,  they don’t protect against short circuits or fires. You may want to consider installing new three-prong ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlets. On average, the cost to install GFCI outlets is about $210 per outlet.

It's less expensive to run power overhead because it doesn’t require excavation, and the power cables are less costly. However, underground electric service is better protected from weather and general wear and tear, so it’s less likely to get damaged. When determining which way to run power, consult a local electrician to get an expect opinion.

This depends on how many outlets you have and the current status of your electrical system. The cost to ground an outlet clocks in at $75 to $480 per outlet, so multiply that by the number of outlets in your home to arrive at a rough estimate. However, this is for simple projects with no obvious issues with the system. Your final bill could vary widely from your calculations.
