"Had an electrician out to give me an estimate on replacing my electrical panel. Decided against replacing it because that wouldn't have solved my issue. My house was built in the 60's so it needs all new wiring. I just had him show me which outlets were on each of the channels so that I could spread out my devices that needed a lot of power, specifically my space heaters."

"I had Excellence Electric install a Tesla charger in my garage. The job was difficult and required a replacement upgraded 200 amp circuit breaker with a 60 amp power line pulled through the attic across the house and dropped down into the garage where the Tesla charger port needed to be installed. Raymond at Excellence Electric completed the job on schedule, took care of all of the HOA and city permits, and kept me updated all the way through the process. I can highly recommend Raymond at Excellence Electric with out hesitation for any electrical work needed on your home or office. Kyle Webb Casa Del Sole residence"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an outstanding experience with Wilsons Electric. Their team was professional, punctual, and completed all of the work with exceptional quality and attention to detail. They installed a dedicated outlet for our carpet cutting machine, new light fixtures in our electrical room, and an additional power outlet in our lobby. From start to finish, communication was excellent, the work area was kept clean, and everything was completed safely and efficiently. It's refreshing to work with a contractor that takes pride in their craftsmanship and delivers exactly what they promise. I highly recommend Wilsons Electric for any commercial or residential electrical needs. We'll definitely be using them again for future projects."

"My wife and I requested a quote to have some electrical work done so we could install a chandelier in our dining room, Shawn Herman called us right away and came out to do an estimate, he was very friendly and knowledgeable which is the primary reason why we decided to hire them. The technicians that came out to do the work were Tom and Nathan. They were awesome and got the work done right. We highly recommend them."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

After completing electrical projects in Orange County, schedule regular inspections to identify issues like outdated wiring or overloaded circuits. The Orange County Building Department recommends periodic checks to ensure ongoing code compliance. Stay informed about changes in local electrical codes, as upgrades may be necessary. Routine maintenance by a licensed electrician helps prevent hazards and keeps your home's electrical system safe and efficient.

Helpful?

In Orange County, frequent mistakes include skipping required electrical permits, using unlicensed contractors, and attempting complex wiring without proper expertise. These errors can lead to failed inspections, fines from the Orange County Building Department, and safety risks. Always follow local regulations, use approved materials, and consult a licensed electrician for anything beyond minor repairs to ensure your project is safe and compliant.

Helpful?

DIY electrical projects in Orange County may seem cost-effective, but they risk code violations, safety hazards, and failed inspections by the Orange County Building Department. Hiring a licensed electrician ensures compliance with local regulations, protects your homeowner's insurance, and increases property value. Although hiring out costs more upfront, it minimizes risks and ensures your electrical work meets Orange County's strict safety standards.

Helpful?

When hiring for electrical projects in Orange County, ensure your contractor is licensed by the California Contractors State License Board and familiar with local codes. Choose a professional who manages permit applications, coordinates inspections, and uses code-compliant materials. Verify their experience with Orange County requirements and request references. Clear communication about timelines and costs is essential for a smooth, code-compliant electrical project.

Helpful?

In Orange County, most electrical projects require an electrical permit issued by the Orange County Building Department to ensure compliance with local safety and building codes. Homeowners may apply under an owner-builder policy if it's their primary residence, but licensed electricians often handle the process. Permit fees vary by project scope. Inspections by county officials are mandatory before work can be finalized, per Orange County regulations.
