"Rick came over and addressed each and every issue that had been raised by the other contractor. He said none of these concerns interfered with the safety or integrity of our roof, and explained everything in a way that a layperson such as me would understand. In short, Rick said our roof is in great shape and doesn’t need to have anything done at all. He could have simply agreed with the other contractor and racked up more business for himself if he had wanted to do so; instead he didn’t charge me a cent for his time and effort although I would have been very happy to pay for the peace of mind he gave me. I’m happy to recommend RC Roofing for anyone who needs to get an honest expert opinion."

"In 2018 Sequoia Roofing replaced my entire roof and did an excellent job for a reasonable price. In 2024 they helped me convince my HO insurance that my policy shouldn't be cancelled because the roof is still in outstanding condition with no faults or flaws."

"I dealt with Leon De Anda for my roof work. Leon was honest and professional and very informative about what could be done with my roof. He offered me a few options and also asked me if there were anything specific I wanted done. I basically described what I wanted and he curtailed his bid to what I was looking for at the best price. I liked the fact that he was honest and straight forward without playing any games or try and screw me over. In the end, I decided to get a whole new roof, down to even getting all new plywood. The men who came to work on the roof were competent and professional. They went to great lengths to only bother me when it was necessary. Everyday they made a mess but at the end of the day they would always clean it up. I thought they were very professional. Leon was not at my house everyday but he was always just a phone call away. He was very accessible. Once the work was completed, Leon and myself walked around the property and inspected the work. He made sure that I was completed satisfied before everything was finalized. Protecta Roofing made a big impression on me based on the way they started and completed this job. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get some roof work done or even some general contracting work done."

"I live in a mobile home so I had to get prk approval and also the permit is issued by the state not the city. Exclusively roofing took care of the permits for me and was extremely efficient. They showed up on time we’re very efficient and had the job done quickly. Not only that but when they were done they used a magnet on my lawn to make sure no nails were left behind. The price was very reasonable and the job done was great. Kendall keep me apprised in every step. I would highly recommend to any one needing their roof worked on."

"I requested roof quotes from Yelp, HomeAdvisor, and BBB. 5 companies reached out to schedule times to meet. 3 called me and used google maps to give me a quote (you canâ t develop a relationship with a customer over the phone, I am old school in that to foster a relationship with a customer you need to have that contact with a customer. I know we are in a time that contact is not something that is encouraged, but being outside, with masks and staying 6 feet away, you can still develop that relationship), 1 never called me back. Only ONE company actually made the effort to come to my home, fly a drone over my home for custom photos and that Rigo from Roof Masters. Rigo was so patient as I asked all my questions, believe me there was a lot. He stepped me through what the process would be and sent me a quote that evening. I needed to have my solar company out to take down the solar panels before they could start on the roof, I got the date from the solar company to come out and take down the panels and Rigo was able to start the next day. Everything just sort of fell into place. Everyone in the office that I had communication with from Claudia to Gaby were just so nice and accommodating, they worked around my schedule instead of the other way around. I donâ t believe I ever had to call, they were in constant contact with me. On the start date Rene the Forman and his crew showed up, they worked fast and efficiently, they were always considerate of the other people in my cul-de-sac with their vehicles, they even worked on Sunday. If I had any questions Rene always took a moment to answer any questions I had or my husband had, my husband likes to get involved and they were patient while he asked his questions. They cleaned up every day before they left the house, picking up nails, pieces of old roof tiles, debris from the front, side and back yard. They left the way they found the yard each day they came. I just canâ t say enough how pleasant this experience was, I was so nervous about replacing my roof, I was nervous because I didnâ t know anything about the process or what to expect. But Roof Masters took my hand and walked me through everything, slowly, patiently and took care of us. When the job was done the crew took great pains to make sure nails or any metal objects were picked up by taking a magnet on a stick around the yard, we have four little fur babies and they took great care that they would be ok after the job was done. If you are replacing your roof and want a company that will walk you through the whole process you will want to go with Roof Masters, ask for Rigo and you will not go wrong and you will end up with a beautiful roof at a competitive price when all is said and done."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

In San Diego, roofing contractors specialize in areas like residential roof replacement, commercial flat roof repair, tile roofing for Mediterranean homes, and metal roofing for enhanced fire resistance. Some focus on solar-ready roof installations, while others handle emergency roof repairs after storms. Choosing a contractor with experience in San Diego’s coastal climate and seismic considerations ensures your roof meets local performance needs.

Helpful?

Common mistakes in San Diego include hiring contractors unfamiliar with local roofing codes, neglecting to secure necessary permits, and choosing materials that don’t withstand coastal salt or wildfire exposure. Starting projects during the rainy season, overlooking future solar panel integration, and underestimating the scope of roof repairs are also frequent pitfalls. Careful planning and clear communication with your contractor help prevent these issues.

Helpful?

Completing a roofing project in San Diego provides immediate protection from rain and wildfire embers, improves energy efficiency with cool roof materials, and supports better indoor comfort. Over time, a new roof increases your home’s resilience to coastal salt air and UV exposure, reduces the need for frequent roof repairs, and can help maintain property value in San Diego’s competitive real estate market.

Helpful?

When planning roofing in San Diego, consider wildfire risk zones, proximity to the coast, and local seismic activity. Use fire-rated and corrosion-resistant materials suited for the area’s climate. Check for required permits and be aware of HOA or historic district guidelines. Scheduling roof replacement or roof repair outside the rainy season helps avoid weather delays and ensures a smoother installation process.

Helpful?

In San Diego, hidden costs during roofing projects often arise from discovering dry rot, termite damage, or the need for structural upgrades in older homes. Additional expenses may include permit fees, addressing asbestos or lead paint, and coordinating with existing solar panels or utilities. Upgrading to materials that resist fire and coastal corrosion can also add complexity to roof replacement or roof repair projects.
