"On initial inspection, they discovered that our old heat registers were the kind with asbestos (house built in the 60's), so they had to sub out the abatement part of the job. Once abatement was complete, the workers showed up each day at the time they said they would arrive. They were all friendly and professional. They kept everything clean. The took pictures in the attic to show me before, during, and after the work. They explained what they were doing and showed me the new ducting they were installing (quiet ducts) and explained the more "up-to-date" way of putting in the duct work than what we had. After the work was complete, we noted that the furnace ran much quieter (due to new ducting), and it ran WAY less often. The house stayed much warmer while running the furnace much less often. Best of all, our gas bill dropped! Now that we're moving into summer, the house seems to be staying cooler on these warm days. We don't have A/C so we're hoping the new insulation will keep the house cooler as the days continue to warm up. Very happy with the company and all the work they did. I would recommend them!"
"Explained what was needed to be done. Arrived on time. Fast and efficient. removed all old insulation in attic-, sanitized and installed new insulation."
"Rafael and his company are great people to work with. Their in-depth estimate and assessment of the attic is unparalleled, not to mention competitive. They were very flexible with accommodating our needs on our schedule. Very responsive Manager too, would reply to my calls and text almost immediately. I really appreciate how hard working and efficient these guys are. I had other workers doing work on our house at the same time and they were also impressed at how clean they left the attic before installing the new insulation. Rafael values your business and his work and attitude definitely demonstrate it. Call them you won't regret it."
"Great quality work, paid attention to every detail; from laying down plastic to corner guards to cleaning up every last piece of insulation on the ground outside. The owner and his crew, who were his father and family friends were very professional and kind. The best owner and operator business that I would recommend to the next person in line."
"I had a fantastic experience with California Attic and Build! From start to finish, Dan and Ben were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs. They took the time to explain the entire process and made sure everything was done to the highest standard. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations, and their friendly attitude made the project enjoyable. I highly recommend California Attic and Build, especially if you get the chance to work with Dan and Ben—they truly go above and beyond!"
"The guys did a great job, cleaning up the old insulation and then reinstalling new insulation. They were professional and cleaned up after. I would recommend them."
"Tyler asked questions and listened to our answers to help us choose the insulation options that made sense for our home. The 3 workers prepared the area to protect our floors and doorways from any damage before they started work. Everyone was professional. Even though they put in a long day everything was cleaned up thoroughly before they left."
"I worked with Lars Larssen to update my old package unit, Lars was very upfront and honest with me and I appreciated that. Lars coordinated the removal and install of the new unit with a separate roofing company to allow installation of insulation and a new roof at the same time. Everything went smoothly and the new unit and additional attic insulation helped make the hot summer of 2015 bearable without jacking up my utility bill too much. I would love to install a solar system with them, but the cost is not justified by the size of my utility bill and I don't have the resources to pay for it out of pocket yet. "
"Hired this company for a spray foam project.
They were super affordable and best of all super knowledgeable in the spray foam industry I was over the fence about applying polyurethane foam to my house because of all the bad stories you read online.
Thanks to these guys we were able to make a wide selection on materials.

Thank you Phoenix insulation"
In San Diego, homeowners often overlook the impact of coastal moisture, leading to improper vapor barrier installation or using insulation that isn’t suited for salty air. Blocking attic vents, skipping thorough air sealing, or selecting the wrong R-value for local climate zones are frequent errors. Attempting DIY electrical work during insulation upgrades can also cause code violations and safety hazards, so always consult local professionals for these tasks.
Helpful?
When planning insulation in San Diego, consider your home’s microclimate—coastal, inland, or canyon—as each affects ideal R-values and material choices. Wildfire risk, seismic codes, and HOA restrictions may influence your project scope. Think about future upgrades like solar panels or water-saving systems, and be aware that contractor availability can fluctuate with the season. Explore local financing programs to help support your insulation improvements.

Before starting an insulation service project in San Diego, review your home’s insulation needs by checking attic insulation levels and identifying areas prone to drafts. Arrange for asbestos or lead testing if your property is older, and confirm if permits are required for your specific neighborhood. Check for microclimate factors, like coastal humidity, and coordinate with your HOA for any restrictions. Early planning helps streamline installation and avoids unexpected project setbacks.
Helpful?
In San Diego, unexpected costs during insulation service projects may include addressing hidden termite or dry rot damage uncovered during attic insulation work, upgrading outdated wiring, or making HVAC adjustments to accommodate improved air sealing. Mold remediation is sometimes necessary, especially in coastal homes. Additional expenses can arise from meeting stricter fire codes, using specialized materials, or scheduling extra inspections required by local building standards.
Helpful?
After installing insulation in San Diego, schedule annual attic inspections to check for settling, moisture intrusion, or pest activity. In coastal areas, monitor insulation for salt air effects and humidity-related deterioration. Prepare for wildfire season by clearing debris from attic vents and ensuring ember-resistant barriers remain intact. Regularly inspect attic access points and replace HVAC filters to keep your insulation system efficient and long-lasting.
