"Genesis Tree Service were fast and professional. They did what they said. I have a pool and was concerned; but they made sure my pool stayed clean. They removed 6 big trees and stump removal as well. They were very considerate to me and my neighbors. They went to my next door neighbor and asked if they can put the tree branches and stumps on their side. They would clean it up. They did exactly as they said. My neighbor also very impressed with them. I would highly recommend Genesis Tree Service to anyone."

"The crew worked quickly and was respectful of property. They completed the job with no damage to the mess of power and communication lines that surrounded the tree. The worksite was spotless on completion. Would definitely recommend AA Tree Service."

"I have used Bruno's about 4 times. They are always professional and one time. I have used them clean up and shape overgrown trees on my property. I also had them remove a LARGE peach tree that seen better days. Each time the workers removed all the debris both from the yard and the street. Additionally they were always called the day before to confirm their appointment. I plan to only use this tree service for all my tree needs."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Absolutely. These steps are significantly easier, too, especially when it comes to preserving the root ball and moving the palm tree. However, you will want to make sure the tree has plenty of fertilizer to establish itself and start growing. Supports may also be more important, as it can take extra time for a potted palm to spread out its roots. If you are transferring a palm to another pot, you’ll want to move up a size or two to a larger pot. Make sure the pot has excellent drainage to keep the palm from getting waterlogged.

You can shape a cherry tree by trimming vertical branches, dense branches, and intersecting branches. Your personal aesthetic comes into play, as well. If you want to simply thin and shape the tree, you can get away with trimming the aforementioned parts of your cherry tree. If you want to shorten branches, however, consider thinning cuts, which alter the length of the branches while encouraging light penetration, new buds and shoots, and a structurally-sound shape.

It’s not as common for Dutch elm disease to affect other types of trees, especially if the surrounding trees aren’t elms. However, it is possible for DED to spread to other trees, particularly in northern states, like Minnesota. In fact, it’s a good idea to use geography to identify wood and determine which types of trees are in your yard.

Unfortunately, the complex and shallow root system of elm trees makes surrounding elm trees particularly vulnerable to DED. Early discovery is key!

Depending on the severity of the damage, a tree might continue healing for years after a split or a break. Saplings can usually bounce back in the spring in one or two seasons, but larger trees might take a few years to regain their former strength. If your tree is showing strong growth and is not dropping limbs, you can consider it healed after the first two seasons.

In most cases, you should not use a pruning seal on trees after trimming. Applying a sealant can interfere with the tree's natural healing process, and it does not guarantee protection from pathogens. Instead of sealing the cut, the best practice is to support the tree's natural recovery by providing it with plenty of water and a dormant-style fertilizer. However, there are exceptions. Pruning seals may be recommended for very vulnerable species, like elm trees, in areas where dangerous diseases such as Dutch elm disease are prevalent. In these specific situations, the protection offered by a sealant can outweigh its downsides. For advice tailored to your situation, especially after cutting large branches, it is best to consult a local tree trimming professional.
