"I had a fig tree that was dropping random branches and taking over the yard. After taking some bids, I hired Genesis Tree Services to cut down and remove my tree. The crew was punctual, professional, and worked hard. My tree had branches that hung over the neighborâ s yard and those branches were removed with care, as were all the branches on my property, without hitting anything as they were taken down and to the truck. The stump was ground to the ground level and when the work was completed, my yard looked cleaner than when they started! Best of all, the final cost was the same as the estimate! I would definitely hire Genesis Tree Services again! They are a pleasure to work with."

"My request was the following: I wanted an Arborist, which Bruno is, to examine my tree and tell me exactly how the work would be done. On the work day he arrived and explained to me and his two assistants in great detail the requirements of the job. The tree was trimmed exactly as I requested; the tree will continue to provide a perfect shade canopy over my deck. I hired three different tree companies to trim trees on my property; the results were terrible. The work that Bruno and his crew provided was beyond reproach. When the work was completed, the crew cleaned up the all the debris; their work was meticulous. If you want tree work done, look no further than Bruno Tree Service"

"We have used AA Tree Service twice with great results! Albert has excellent communication skills and his crew is fast and efficient. I have already recommended AA to neighbors and will continue to recommend AA Tree Service. His crew worked on our 180 foot redwood with zero damage to our property or our neighbors property."

"A-1 Prestige Tree Service does a great job. They don't overcharge like a lot of companies do. Also, they are very friendly. We use them to cut or trim a lot of palm trees in our yard but they do everything including stump grinding."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

In general, trees should be planted no closer than 15 to 20 feet from your foundation. For larger trees with far-reaching roots like maples, oaks, or poplars, a good guide is to plant as many feet from your home as the tree’s height is expected to reach at maturity. Some trees, like elms and willows, should only be planted far from where their roots may encounter sewer or water lines.

Generally, if your neighbor’s tree hangs over your yard, you can legally trim overhanging branches. Keep in mind that you cannot cross your property line to cut the trees, and if you damage the tree by trimming it, your neighbor could sue you. Depending on the type of tree and value, this could mean dishing out two to three times the value of the tree.

It’s worth noting that the specifics of this type of tree maintenance and the guidelines around it may vary by location. Do your research and, most importantly, consult with your neighbor.

It could be anywhere from weeks to years for a dead tree to fall. A dead tree falls based on its weight, how it leans, the state of its roots, the state of decay, and what local windstorms are like, among other factors. Since it’s hard to predict the fall’s timing, it’s important to cut down a dead tree quickly and avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Trimming a tree can take anywhere from just two hours to a full day, depending on the age of the tree, the number of trees, and the species. Young trees are generally easier to trim, as their branches are often thinner in diameter and easier to reach compared to mature trees. They also tend to be healthier. If you haven’t trimmed your trees before or it’s been a while, the process could take even longer.

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.
