"I am the proverbial do it yourselfer and my wife is a perfectionist. The concrete that I poured decades ago needed to be replaced. We spent lots of time designing what our yard should look like and came to the conclusion that what we needed was a concrete professional. But where to find one? We decided to ask friends and neighbors use and web reviews. From this list, a handful of people who do concrete work came by and gave us a quote. The first contractor was ok but not perfect, the second's license was not up to snuff, and like the story goes, the third contractor, Western Concrete Designs, was just right! Mr. David Vasquez of Western Concrete Designs is a licensed concrete contractor in good standing with the CSLB (I checked). My wife called for a quote and set a time to have him look over what work we would like accomplished. He showed up on time, listened to my wife's vision, reviewed our hand drawn plans. With plans in hand David walked with us around the property. He then proceeded to answer all our probing questions to our complete satisfaction without hesitation. It was amazing how patient and professional Mr. David Vasquez was. It was obvious that this was the contractor we were going to use. We set the date work was to start and be completed. I was impressed when David pulled out his iPad and wrote up the contract in a few minutes, I was able to sign it on his pad. David explained he would come by the week before to re-walk the site and give us an update. Well to say this company goes to town is an understatement. At the end of the first day, what was going to take over a week changed to being done in a few days! Looking at the quality of the work and the speed it was accomplished, my perfectionist wife started doing her happy dance. David once again, walked the property pointing out what was accomplished i.e. grading the lot, laying base material, setting forms, etc. Plus, continued to answer our questions in his calm patient manor. On the day of the final pour, David brought in a small army of experienced concrete workers to handle the constant flow of concrete being delivered by multiple concrete trucks. There was David orchestrating this crew with aplomb. Days ahead of schedule, David and crew finished the project. He then walked us around pointing out all of the special things that distinguish his work from ordinary guys like myself. We were ecstatic. We are ecstatic. Not only would I recommend David and company, I have recommended him already. Thank you, thank you David Vasquez of Western Concrete Designs."
