"I hired Neli over a week period for 3 different appliances, my dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and even kitchen sink! I had a fantastic experience: 1. I fixed my dryer with Thomas' excellent remote guidance, changing the timer and the switch! Fabulous guidance Thomas, with lots of money saved! I learned a lot in the process. 2. I determined that there was no dishwasher leak and in the process learned how to check for leaks and trouble shoot for some common repair issues. It cost $40.00 but as I had some water on the floor, I was ready to get a new dishwasher. Now, I am confident that it wasn't a leak and caused by putting in the dishes in a funny manner and not a repair issue. I am using the dishwasher now again with no problem. 3. I determined with Thomas' help that the washing machine had a major problem and could have spun out of control into my wall....no question, it was time to get a new washing machine! This was a well spent $40.00--I even got Thomas advice on purchasing a new washing machine and what to look for. 4. I checked the drainage on my kitchen sink and learned how to empty out the "trap" and that most likely, I am okay, but what to swap out if I have continuing issues with slow drainage. In the end, I saved lots of money, gaining and learning valuable experience! Absolutely fabulous service!"

"Vortex Filtration Inc is a excellent company with vast experience & knowledge in conditioning potable well water. I recommend Vortex Filtration Inc to design build and install their patented Vortex water system to solved all well water conditioning issues. My client had a problem for over tens years prior to the installation of the Vortex system. Once installed, the well water in the holding tank was crystal clear. Thanks Vortex!"

"Landmark construction and energy crew executed a whole kitchen renovation for us, including custom cabinets, new floors, new countertops, electrical (sub panel with lights and switches), recessed lighting covering, plumbing fixtures, took down wall to expand the kitchen area by merging it to the living room space. The cost included all the materials for cabinets and countertops, backsplash tiles, new floors and the appliances. We are thrilled with our new kitchen! Charlie, Nir and the workers did an excellent work and while the whole job was completed in less than a month. You could see how hard they worked in order to keep the work moving so it will be done in that time period that they originally promised us. On top of that, they worked hard to get things to our requirements (i.e. to stain the cabinets, complete the paint etc…). We all were pleasant and satisfied to have them work at our house and mainly with Charlie (project manager) that was approachable and supportive when we had requests or problems. I must mention that on few times, we were bothered with some of the workers when they didn’t show up when they should, or worked more hours on the electricity panel. Clearly enough, it’s normal that you must have to handle a lot of problems when you decide on going for this type of project. The final cost was the same as we agreed with them at first, although we were sure that it will be increased due to some additional things that we did during the work and that were not included in the first estimate/agreement. Overall, we would give LANDMARK CONSTRUCTION AND ENERGY CREW Construction a strong recommendation!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Routine maintenance for plumbing in Quincy focuses heavily on preventing freeze damage. Inspect pipe insulation and heat tape before winter arrives. Drain pipes and winterize outdoor faucets for seasonal cabins. For rural homes, test well water annually and pump septic tanks every three to five years. Flush your water heater annually to remove sediment, and clear roof drainage systems to prevent ice dams from backing up into your home.

Helpful?

When hiring for plumbing in Quincy, avoid contractors who suggest skipping required permits for well or septic work. Reject professionals who push aggressive wildfire-related pipe replacements without recommending water testing first. Watch out for vague quotes that fail to detail travel requirements for remote properties. Always verify that your contractor holds valid state credentials and carries current liability and workers' compensation insurance to protect your property.

Helpful?

In Quincy, you will find several types of professionals handling plumbing. General contractors manage residential systems connected to the town's water supply. Rural properties require well and septic specialists. Because CA faces extreme wildfire risks, fire sprinkler contractors are essential for new builds. Finally, hydronic heating experts install radiant floors for cold winters, and certified technicians handle required backflow prevention testing.

Helpful?

Make plumbing safer by testing well water annually for contaminants, especially after wildfires. If your CA home was built before 1986, test your water for lead. Secure all septic tank lids to protect children and pets, and keep them away from active excavation sites to avoid ash exposure. Finally, install carbon monoxide detectors near properly vented propane or gas water heaters to keep your household completely safe.

Helpful?

The cold mountain climate in Quincy severely limits outdoor plumbing. Deep frost penetration requires burying water lines at least eighteen to twenty-four inches underground. Heavy winter snowfall makes trenching and septic installation impossible from November through March. Spring snowmelt saturates the ground, stressing septic systems. Additionally, summer wildfires across CA can halt construction and cause contamination in plastic pipes, requiring thorough water testing before use.
