"It went great! I have a ton of oak trees on my property that I was concerned about because I will have a kid running around the property soon and wanted someone to come check them out and cut some limbs if needed. I talked to Levi over the phone and he said they could do it no problem. They showed up and got to work right away, it was quick, easy, and very effective. They even bucked the larger pieces up for me to fit in my wood stove at no extra cost. They chipped up all the brush for me and were on their way. Now I’m able to walk around my property on windy days without having to worry about branches falling. Thank you guys again, 5/5 stars on the job, great customer service."

"Pedro phoned immediately after I inquired about my tree removal. When he came to give me a bid, he was right on time! (Two of the others I made appointments with didn't even bother to show up OR call). Both my neighbor and I needed our trees removed. He gave us a VERY REASONABLE bid and said he could do it 2 days later. We said we'd like to get other bids... he was the first one. Well, after getting all the bids we could, we decided on Mountain Tree Care. I phoned Pedro in the evening and told him of our decision. He said they'd be over at 7:30 am the next morning!!! He came with all the equipment necessary to do the job... 3 exceptionally skilled crew members, a chipper, a stump grinder, and a huge truck to haul away the debris. The next morning Pedro arrived at 7:05 am! A few minutes later, the rest of the crew arrived. They started right away. Safety and conscientiousness were high on their list. They removed one tree in my yard and another in my neighbor's. Each limb was roped before dropping it to the ground insuring that our properties were not damaged. And there was a fence between they had to work around as well. No damage whatsoever. They worked non-stop all day! The trees were removed and the stumps ground away. What we figured would take 2-3 days took them one day! The clean-up was exceptional! The next morning I went out to get the mail, and even the street where the chipper and truck were sitting were spotless. Did they sweep the street too??? Bottom line: WE RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY! They are available, they are safe, they are conscientious, they are hard workers and they are FAIR and REASONABLE!"

"The provider showed up on time as promised. After about 40 minutes the service guy was wrapping up and had to ask him to redo some sections that were clearly not clean. Also missed stairs completely. They did finish it up and final job was fine. Had some trouble communicating with service guy as his English was limited. Wasn't terrible but wouldn't use again.

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. However, effective transplanting requires six months, careful root pruning, safe transport to the new location, and replanting in prime soil conditions. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. Typically, pruning should be during late winter. For younger trees, you should not remove more than a ⅓ of the tree's crown when pruning. Also, remember to remove dead and diseased branches first, then proceed with pruning the rest of the tree.

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. If you’re unsure which method to use or how quickly you need to act, consulting with a pro is always a good idea.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.
